A lot of talk about the CPC what does it look like for PTC. I believe it is HP Central that has some very good pitching this year.

    Yes, HPC has pitching...

as does Southwest, with at least two 85 arms - righty and lefty...
as does Northwest with three arms at 85 or better ...

I have a feeling the conference will be brutal again this year. Central used to be an easy out but not anymore. Ragsdale should be pretty good this year. Glenn, NWG, SWG. Not sure about East Forsyth this year. They have been loaded for awhile. If they are again it's going to be murderer's row in conference play.

PT4A will be loaded from top to bottom. I bet 3 or 4 games will separate top to bottom it will be so balanced. Should have at least 3 teams in state playoffs, probably SWG, NWG, EF maybe Glenn. I know SW and NW will have plenty of pitching, NW will have great defense and a fast team.

    Uh....

I guarantee 4 PT4A teams will make the playoffs.

(Since that is the number of teams that qualifies out of the conference every year per the NCHSAA alotment for a 7 team league. Ask your coach about it OWA...)

East will have the best hitting team they have had since they finished 2 nd in the state . They are being over looked on what they have on the mound with Scudder , Scarce, Ford and they have 1 more. They have either 4 or 5 players on the Dirtbags. SWG will be good on the mound if Orth arm holds up. HPC will be tuff to beat when Butler throws. He is the real deal! Glenn should be in the top 4 if Woods and Striplin can throw strikes and Stanberry will help them. They will have some speed and some gap guys.Big ? is behind the plate. Any of the top 5 could make the State Think Ragsdale is a year away. My thoughts only!

    1 East
    2 SWG
    3 NWG
    4 Glenn
    5 HPC
    6 Rags
    7 Park

    HUM...

... left off the name of a kid who has won about, oh 8-9 conference games for Glenn in the last 2 seasons: Hodges will be a key on the mound as well.

... also left off name of kid who has busted his butt to get back from some injury: Binkley will be looked to on the mound as well.

... and left off name of a 6'4/5" kid who almost hands the ball to catcher, and is over 80mph: Thompson will be on the bump too.

Summary - looking to at least 6 arms (a blessing!) to contribute for the Cats: Hodges, Woods, Striplin (all returners at varsity level with experience) and Binkley, Stanbery, and Thompson (all coming up with plenty of promise.)

... and there are a couple of INF who can toe it in relief over 80 - and even a couple position kids who experimented dropping down under during "summer ball" and have shown the ability to come in and get ground balls.

    Not just 3 names...

    Sorry

Please forgive me for not including Hodges Thompson and Binkley to the list of pitchers Who If They Can Throw Strikes That Glenn should finish in the top 4
