According to NCHSAA the coaches are suppose to be using MaxPreps to enter wins / losses and stats. I understand that some coaches may not want to put in their stats (worried about being scouted), but many of the teams I look at don't even have their rosters in there. Many of the scorekeepers are now using electronic scoring and at least having the rosters in MaxPreps would be a big help. It is FREE, it is EASY. I can think of NO reason that all the coaches couldn't at least put in their rosters and schedules.

Iscore on the Ipad as well as other apps allow you to upload a file of your game directly to MaxPreps and it takes about 5 minutes to have all the stats entered from your game.

Unfortunately, many of our daughters are being coached in high school by volleyball, football, tennis, etc. coaches or school faculty that are readily available to coach in the spring. These coaches have no knowlege of the game much less of how to post stats, call in scores to newspaper, or promote their players. We all wish we had the coaches who know this sport and appreciate the amount of time many of the players put in year round to become better players. Sadly, to many it is just a 4 month job.

The flip side of that coin is the players aren't always the ones who play year round. HS coaches don't have the advantage of recruiting players.

And many of those year round players already know everything and some don't think they need a coach.

I've noticed recently that MaxPreps isn't keeping their data updated, even though it's obvious they have some of it.

Our school doesn't update on MaxPreps. I think our coach struggles with getting the practices done, coach wouldn't even consider posting stats online. Too disorganized!
I look at MaxPreps and while it would be nice to have all schools participate, several of the schools have parents who do the stats and then post them on MaxPreps. They're a joke. Very slanted to favor their kid and the team. There's one team out there that the entire team batted over .300, never reached on error and never committed a single error all season last year. Really?? We've all seen high school games. That team finished 2nd to last in their conference. We play them. Games didn't remotely happen they way they report it. And the same team, according to MaxPreps, is on the same track this year.
So even with those reported stats on MaxPreps, you have to consider the source. They're not always worth too much

Agreed! This is a great program, and they now link with MaxPreps. Makes it very simple and easy.

    coaches poll

Look on TRB here at coaches poll. There is a lot of the same talk going on. I just think that as stated above that a lot of coaches are lazy and dont care. JMO
