Chelsea has done an amazing job in the regionals. She is expected to be back on the mound today for the showdowns against ASU,

I've got Oklahoma, Louisiana Lafayette, Arizona State, Florida State, Florida, Tennessee, Missouri, Oregon. Really hate selecting Tennessee over Alabama, but Alabama has faltered in big games this year. UAB has shown some real grit over the season, but Florida has some very hungry, young talent.

UCLA's team was not that strong this year. The few games I saw were error fests. As for Cal? When Jolene Henderson went down with the injury a few weeks ago I didn't think she would come back able to pitch them through a world series, and she couldn't. Just didn't have the stuff she normally has.

I have been a HUGE Duck fan for years. Would love to see them pull it off.

And I will freely admit to hoping OU does NOT win. I used to be a big supporter of OU and Ricketts until that little display during the WCWS last year. Seriously, you were all good with playing in the rain as long as Traina was pitching and you were taking advantage. But the minute you have to? Ricketts falls apart and the bit with doing everything they could to delay the game, including the tongue depressor? Yeah, no. Hope someone blows OU away.

Want to get your team to OKC?

then not much point in recruiting pitchers smaller than 5'11', 175 lbs. Size does matter!

On that note the Sooners have to be huge favorites.

Pretty close to on the money there Duke :) Of those that have or are near guaranteed to punch their tickets, each of these pitchers are 6' or over:

    Driesenga 6'1
    Escobedo 6'
    Inglesby 6'1
    E Renfroe 6'
    I Renfroe 6'

Only Rogers (5'10) and Luna (5'8) are under 6', although both pitchers for the remaining series of Ducks v Corn Huskers are under 6' with Moore at 5'10 and Edwards an itty bitty 5'6.

OU has been the favorite to win the WCWS this year since the pre-season polls. The only thing that might stop them from taking it this year is if it drizzles again, and Ricketts has another meltdown. The offense they have this year is brutal, and Ricketts, when on, has that brutal crop duster that eats teams up.

Only time will tell. You never know when that big upset will come along and sit the favored team down :)

    Size matters

Don't forget Ricketts listed @ 6'2". None of these girls are built like Carolina's Lori Spingola either. My guess is Ricketts is easily two bills. This size not only aids velocity but overall strength helps these kids endure the 230 to 270 innings many will throw in a single season.

The best pitcher I've ever seen inch for inch and pound for pound was VT's Angela Tincher. She was 5'7" and maybe 140.

Didn't forget Ricketts. Figured she was a given in the conversation :)

I loved watching Tincher pitch. Saw Spingola pitch several times this season, someone to contend with :)
