Proehlific Park 2016-2017 Team

UPDATE: Roster is nearly full, but we're still looking for 2-3 more pitchers!! Another tryout is scheduled for Saturday the 22nd from 4-6:30PM at Greensboro Day School. See contact info below...


Proehlific Park is fielding a 16U Travel/Showcase Team as part of the POWER Baseball Travel Program.

An evaluation will be held Saturday March 22nd from 4PM-6:30PM at Greensboro Day School's Baseball Field located at the corner of Kello Dr and Lake Brandt Rd in Greensboro.

The proposed tournaments to play in are as follows:

June 7th-9th - Barton College/NC Wesleyan/Mt. Olive


June 13th - 15th - HPU


June 28th - 29th - Bunn HS


July 11th - 13th - Va Tech/Radford


July 18th - 21st - UNC/Duke/NC State


July 24th - 27th - UNC-Asheville King of the Mountain Team Camp

... can showcase teams NOT have workouts/tryouts during the High School season?

Hey Coach, isn't everybody looking for 2 or 3 pitchers? I have also determined what's wrong with HS sports, DON"T CHARGE ENOUGH. will be much more legit if charged at least $1000 per kid.

I understand some HS players are playing tournament ball right now while HS season is going on. Total disrespect to the HS Coach and program.

 

Yeah, but to be as "legit" we'd also have to:
1) stop practicing - just play games...
2) only have a max of 12 players on the team...
3) bring in players from another school to play for us in the "really big games"...

Oh my.................................................I just shouldn't........................

 

Could not agree more guys .I must be doing something wrong practicing or playing 6 days a week to try and make my TEAM better. We played 62 games last spring summer and fall in two leagues so i dont see any time for my guys to become $2500 DIRTBAG backups or PERFECT GAME subs. Think we will just stick to playing boring high school ball with all of our TEAM MATES trying to make our TEAM better. BY the way 5 of 8 seniors going to play at the next level without the aid of any other $$$$$ summer teams..Hard to believe that a high school player could get looked at playing High School Baseball. Must be a new concept..WOW

There is nothing wrong with a Showcase program holding an evaluation or tryout during HS baseball season. I would hold tryouts on a Sunday so it could/would not interfere with HS ball. The only thing they do during these tryouts is run a 60 yard dash, take about 7 ground ball or fly balls and swing at about 10 pitches from a coach and maybe throw 10 pitches off the mound. How is this going to hurt the players??
Catcoach, I hear you give permission for your players to play Little league during the HS season, now how is this different? I think the pitch count for LL is like 95 pitches a game and since Senior LL is horrible nowadays, I can only imagine how many arms they have to lean on, plus they could get hurt playing a competitive game and be out for the HS season..
Showcase baseball does not play during High School season, so if anyone is playing tournament ball it has to be a young 9th grader who is 14 years and can still play with 8th graders in the 14u division
Wolfpack coach, please enlighten me on your 5 college recruits that you were able to get signed based on HS ball and summer ball. Im assuming you are the Walkertown HS coach. The ones I know in Forsyth county that are going to D1 and D2 have ties to Dirtbags, Evoshield Canes and Golden Spikes. I know there are good d3 and juco programs, however I am curious on the caliber of schools your players are going to since they don't have to spend the big bucks for the top tier showcase programs or waste their money on going to perfect game events!!!

 

You hit the nail on the head. College coaches is playing during HS. So how do they get out much and watch HS.
