Clay Martin, '09 Northwood High School, has committed to Barton College. I am very happy for this young man and his family. Barton has gotten a solid ball player with a lot of talent!

    Give me more....

Please give us (mainly me) more information on him. Position, size, etc.
My son is a rising sophmore there and so far we have only heard of 2 commitments. Would like to think there are more coming. Share as much as possible. Thanks!

Clay is a solid, fundamentally sound baseball player. He has played numerous positions in high school and has performed well wherever his coach put him. He has a great mental make up and keeps his mouth shut and just plays ball. In many ways, he's an "old school" type player. I think Barton is a great "fit" for Clay and I believe Coach Wilkinson will be able to help Clay develop into a very solid collegiate player.

I was one of Clays assistant coaches last summer in American Legion. First, congratulations Clay! Best of luck to you.

Clay is a very versatile player. We used him just about everywhere. Left handed stick, with a chance to REALLY hit in my opinion. I thought the comment above about Clay being an "old school" or "throwback" type of player was very accurate. He really is, in my opinioin, a "baseball" player. Able to play anywhere, and willing to play anywhere. Again, congratulations, and best of luck Clay!
