Gilmore could be the best recruiter in the Carolinas. He recruits players nationwide & has no problem luring prospects to the beach. He has only 5 players from South Carolina & 1 from North Carolina. The rest come from 16 other states. Good coach also.

Yea, I got that. He's luring HS baseballers from all over the country to the beach. Not just Carolina guys. The beach is a heck of a recruiting tool.:sunny:

    USC centerfielder

If you have a chance to watch USC play, check out their CF'er Jackie Bradley, Jr. A 5 tool guy / special talent. Hits out of the 2 hole with power as needed. Fast on the bases and a defensive whiz with a cannon. Sophomore.

    Top Conferences

    Bids:
Southeastern, Pac. Ten, & ACC all have 8 teams, but I'm thinking that the SEC is going to dominate the tournament. I saw alot more SEC games this year on ESPN & it just seemed like that conference was much stronger overall. I'm guessing the champion will be from the SEC also. If LSU wins that Los Angeles Regional, which is a tuff one, I say they'll go on to win the whole thing.

    My pick: LSU

As a Sandlapper, I applaud what Coastal has achieved. But if I'm going to give out kudo's for a job well done for a mid major team, you can't forget Elon. What Starbuck has done the last 8 years is amazing, too, while fighting many more schools for the same player.

But let's don't kid ourselves, the stud HS player has his sights aimed for an alphabet school for good reasons; one of many reasons is for TV time, but don't sell short the importance of a big time football program that attracts baseball players.

NCSU gets behind early to Char. So. and pitchers give up close to 20 hits total, trailing 8-2, Drew Poulk clocks a grandslam to make it 8-6 but the following inning CSU adds to their lead and holds on for a first round win over the Pack.

The last I heard, UNC was up on Cal 6-0.

College of Charleston , not Charleston Southern.

It looks like UNC got in the easiest regional. Read about it on any of the popular college baseball websites.
