I hope I am spelling this correctly. Has anybody else seen this kid play? I watched a few innings of the NM vs South Meck game yesterday and noticed this young man...very impressive! I understand he is a senior. Has he committed somewhere? Are any schools looking at him?

Eric Shoemaker is an outstanding raw talent.
MECA-6 All conference last year (used mainly as DH)
    6'4" OF/P
    190 lb
    R/L
Great Speed: 6.9 60yd Good range in the OF
Solid Power hittter, capable of going deep at any time.
Hopefully he will get the chance to show his arm on the mound again this season.

Eric is getting some real interest now, which is well desrved. He has worked very hard over this past year in the weight room and on his mechanics. I think you will hear alot more about him as the year goes on.
I do not want to comment on what schools that are showing interest, but who ever gets him will be extremely happy with his tools.

North Meck has potential to do very well this season. Led by seniors: Brown (UNCC), Heath (Penn State), Shoemaker (Undecided), Whitt(Undecided) & Juniors: Plummer, Bouch, & Echstenkamper, they have a nice balance of power & speed.

Also, one to watch is Adam Echstenkamper (1B) Inured during the game at South Meck (broken/dislocated finger) So far this year he has provided the most consistant power for the Vikings. He will be surely missed during the next few weeks. Keep your eyes on this young man.

Thanks bbrsksfan. We need you to continue to keep us informed of what's going on with NM. I remember Porter telling me a couple of years ago that the '07's and '08's are very talented. It's nice to see them continue to get recognition.

About Shoemaker...the young man already has a college body, but I loved watching him at the plate. If it was me and I was a college recruiter, I would have signed this kid a long time ago. No way would I let my competitors beat me to him.

Shoemaker is an interesting prospect IMO.
Has the body and the athleticism.

As for the North Meck team. They need to hit the baseball.

    Consistently.

One big inning per game wont get it done when they get into the meat of the season.

IMO - They need to hit the baseball - and run like wild dogs. ALL the time - Every time - Every inning .:newsmile56:

    We shall see.
