Okay before all the haters come after me, I will give you the fact that I went to I went to high school in Boone, and my pioneers have never really been anything to write home about. However I was wondering without 2002 has MacMahon at Freedom ever won a playoff game. His teams seem to be well prepared ever week in conference then the Patriots have early exits. Is his talent that much better during the year or they get outcoached in the playoffs?

    Shit Happens!

Don't get down on Coach Mac. He's won a hell of a lot more than he's lost. Moreover, he's the winningest coach in that school's history and they do not play a patsy schedule. Last thing that the Morganton community wants to do is piss him off and have him resign and go elsewhere. He's a superb coach and a lot of other schools would salivate to get a guy like him.

thats a BIG win for Northwest Guilford. I guarantee that Freedom was totally focused on playing East Burke next week instead of playing NW this week.

That was a first round upset game I was really looking at. NW has a really good running game, great back in Tyson Stewart - they rolled up over 200 yards rushing on Ragsdale even though we won it easy 41-14.

Just proves you can't get caught looking ahead.

Perhaps you are correct. However, calling for TM's resignation or criticizing him after all he has done at that school is ridiculous. He's a good guy and a good coach.

After reading this thread twice, I don't think that that anyone has called for a resignation. Pioneerpride has just asked some very good questions. I would tell you what a former coach told me about the situation at Freedom, but I would sure hate to tick off Hulka......

I finished high school with Tim and worked with his wife. And he has done a lot with Freedom's football program. I'm glad he's there. Hell- they won conference and beat their cross county rival.

I think Wossa was right- these teenagers lost focus on a game while looking ahead at a chance to beat their cross-county rival a 2nd time in one year and then get a shot at one of the best teams in the nation! NW Guilford had that focus and it won it for them.

No, but that's where the threads going.

There is nothing wrong with the situation at Freedom. TM's a very good football coach and has proven that year after year. But go ahead, say what you will.

Freedom will be more prepared for the playoffs next year when they face Shelby, T.C. Roberson, Crest, and Asheville in non-conference play. :scared2: If Mac and the Patriots cant produce after this, then a change is needed.

You are nuts! Plain and simple. No change needed. It's not all about wins and losses. He'll be there as long as he wants to be.
