2006 College Prospects

    With the early signing period over, its time to hear about those players who make up the class of 06. Some are already posted in the 05 thread and i hope that those who posted them in that thread will add them to this one!
    Here are just a few off the top of my head:

    Randi Pruitt, C, Maiden........WCU is the top of her list
    Kelly Davis, OF, North Bumcombe.....the fastest girl i have ever seen
    Caroline Taylor, 2B, TC Roberson......outstanding talent and still improving
    Courtney Davis, 3B/1B, Erwin......power hitter with great footwork
    Sarah Soesbee, P, Enka........good young pitcher with alot of movement
    Shelby English, P, Owen......another quality pitcher and works hard
    Erin Gier, IF/OF, AC Reynolds......FLA girl who will make an impact at ACR

    how about:

    Morgan Mayer, pitcher,hunter huss, WCU, UNCC, UNCG, UNCW
    Laronda McClain, OF, kings mtn, WCU, UNCC, UNCG, UNCW

    and I'll put Laronda McClain against Kelly Davis as far as speed any day. And as far as ball movement, no one throws a better curve or screw than Morgan, after all, they're both former Carolina Fear Players and you taught em well. Both will go D1, probably together!!?

    Rebecca Huff, 3B,IF -Madison High School.
    Excellent infielder, great bat.
    Rebecca also excels in the classroom and has a wonderful family.

    More to add to the 06 list

    Kings Mountain High School has several "Class of 2006" players that will be attractive College Prospects:

    Kala Buchanan-catcher with good speed, excellent arm and a lot of potential
    with the bat.
    Brittney Thornburg-first base with good arm and excellent power at the plate.
    Kristyn Funderburke-third base with very good arm and very good hitter. (Also,
    #1 in her class)
    LaRhonda McClain-excellent range in the outfield with great speed.
    Amber Milwood- a lot of potential in the outfield and at the plate.

    What happened to...

    Brittany Underwood from Pisgah? I know she was going up to WCU, but did she make the team?

    Brittany will be playing at WCU next year. :banana: She is currently the only player on the team that is physically at Western. Coach Smith has her on 8 am workouts / conditioning 5 days a week and pitching practice / drills 2 days a week in the afternoon.

    Got to put a plug in for 1 of our East Rowan gals,& that would be Lindsey Barrier.Got a solid bat, good speed,can play anywhere in the OF, & most of the IF.Great personality,good grades,& a great attitude.Really nice parents who are behind her,this one will go to the next level. :xyzthumbs Go Cobras!
