Just a quick note about On Deck...I played for On Deck since it first opened and it was the best decision I have EVER made. I can understand you being upset by their solicitations, but keep in mind this site was designed to help promote and IMPROVE players, and that is all they try to do at On Deck. Their staff is second to none, and for kids looking to be seen by colleges there is no better place. All of the coaches know a great deal about the recruting process and can help you greatly. It seems like some of you are bitter towards On Deck which I can't understand. They are the most committed people I have ever known, and I personally have learned so much about the game from them. Some of my friends were introduced to On Deck the past couple of years and they all agree it is the best place to improve your skills and all say it is a true blessing they found out about On Deck. If you haven't been there, you should check it out. Also, about your claim that On Deck is making excess money off you...their not. Those rates are comprable to any instruction you can find, and they don't do it for the money either. I've gone through cold winters and hot summers in that building because all the funds were put back into baseball, with no heat or AC.

Since somebody else brought this up, I would like to make a remark about On Deck.

It is a first rate, quality run organization. The Hill family (the owners) are classy folks that have devoted their lives to developing talent in the Charlotte area. The subject of fees are reasonable with many other top academies across the state.

My comments, only, are about partnering with any business wanting to solicit on TBR. It would behoove all of us to do it this way. It's one thing when a team is posting their ph# to inquire about playing for them, it's another when the purpose is to solicit business.

I would like to have some control of this or all we will see on the first page of TBR are business's with their own threads.

All I ask from any business wanting to advertise themselves on TBR is to let us know, so we don't get flooded.

It's hard enough to moderate this forum without having to spend megahours controlling what the competing academies, presciption baseball websites, bat companies, glove companies and recruitment assist companies may post on here.

I don't mind helping anybody, but introduce yourself

    apologies

I am sorry if we have offended anyone. It was not our intention to solicit our business. Our main focus is on the kids we have in our programs.
Just a little bit about me. It really upset me that people feel that we are all about the money. I personally left a $45,ooo a year job to work with these guys. My salary was pretty much cut in half and a little more when I left. I came to On Deck because it was always my dream to help kids in this area out so that they will have a better chance going to a better college and do what they love to do. I wish I would have had a facility and opportunity like this when I was in High School, instead I had to drive to Charleston, SC twice a week so I could get the exposure I needed.
Also the Hill family has sacraficed a lot by taking over this business. They are truly in it because they love to help kids. You can not even imagine the loss they took finacially when they all left their jobs to run this place.
So I hope that you accept our apology if you felt we were taking advantage of this board. We only wanted to let anyone and everyone who are serious about becoming a better baseball/softball player as well as a better person that we are here.
