Now that the early period is over, who do you think are the top unsigned seniors in NC besides Cameron Maybin and TJ Worrell ?

As far as I know, the only player who has been plucked from the NW4A is Chapman.

I've had a list of guys that I'm following. Once you get past the top group of players, your list might either pick up a regional flavor, or else you caught a player on a particularly good (or bad) day.

I put this list alphabetically. In no way should it be considered a conclusive list, but it's pretty good.

    Name, HS, Pos
    Greg Allen, North Meck, RHP
    Patrick Ball, New Bern, SS
    Robert Branch, Hoggard, OF
    Brian Brice, Northwood, OF
    Erik Bron, New Hanover, C
    Jason Cargile, DH Conley, OF
    Dexter Carter, Hertford Co, RHP
    Brian Corbett, Alexander Central, IF
    Cory Dunning, Providence, OF
    Carlton Floyd, Waccamaw, OF
    Trey Hamby, E Burke, RHP
    Adam Hamrick, Garner, RHP
    Daniel Hill, Charlotte Christian, 1B
    John Kellett, North Meck, OF
    Jake Kensmoe, Ragsdale, LHP
    Jesse Lancaster, E Wayne, 3B
    Bradley Littrell, Pisgah, RHP
    Damian Manzetti, North Meck, OF
    Jeremy Mathis, Myers Park, RHP
    Cameron Maybin, TC Roberson, OF
    Tyler McKenzie, N Davidson, OF
    DJ Mitchell, N Forsyth, OF
    Nick Morrison, Middle Creek, LHP
    Greg Munoz, Tuscola, 1B
    Marc Nicholson, Independence, OF
    Jordan Pegram, S Guilford, 2B
    John Polchinski, Ragsdale, 2B
    Jerry Sands, Smithfield-Sel., OF
    Garrett Sherrill, AL Brown, RHP
    Brett Shore, S Rowan, 2B
    Rand Smith, S Brunswick, OF
    Taylor Smith, Raleigh Area, C
    Dusty Snow, W Forsyth, LHP
    Shane Thompson, Hoggard, 2B
    Phillip Townsend, Card-Gibbons, LHP
    Jason Windham, New Hanover, LHP
    TJ Worrell, S Meck, RHP
    Levi Wright, N Henderson, C
    Brandon York, West Wilkes, C

The players I'm really watching closely right now:
    Maybin, Worrell, Nicholson

    Wow ! Great list !
A couple of Watauga players that could be added are flying way under the radar right now because of past injuries.

    Heath Holder-MIF
(missed entire junior season with ACL)-a rare WHS freshman varsity starter.
Solid tools & great instincts. DI potential.

    Brian Wilson-P/C/3b
(missed entire sophmore season with Tommy John surgery)
Throws gas. DII or DIII potential.

    Ryan Caldwell, Glenn
    Torrey Johnson, RJ Reynolds

    ...are a couple of others.

and I think Dusty Snow is headed to Lenoir-Rhyne.

    Under the radar

Brett Richardson OF from Hopewell is a definite D2 player who should sign this spring with several teams that have contacted him. Great range, arm and bat.

I really like Brett ... he's a great kid too. It's nice to hear that he's getting a following.

Another senior over at Hopewell who deserves a look is Steve Laco. Great speed in CF and he'll run through a wall for you. He takes great pride in his defense.

Has anyone heard if Steve is going to play Baseball this season? I have heard, UNCONFIRMED rumors, that he is considering not playing to concentrate on another sport (track?) that he plays and wants to put his total efforts into that. He did a good job last year and would be difficult to replace unless one of the underclassman really steps it up.

NCBBALLFAN, thanks for your list. But I couldn't help but chuckle when I noticed Cameron Maybin's name on your list of unsigned seniors. I have a feeling he'll be "signing" this July... :xyzthumbs

Yeah ... you have to list him or people will ask "Where's Cameron"

The only question with him is "Which pick in the first round???" Most people are saying by the 5th pick.
 It sure don't take a rocket scientist to include him on any list, does it....
