Tommy Knotts Officially Resigns

    Ted Roof, the Duke head coach announced yesterday the resignation of quarterbacks coach Tommy Knotts. Coach Knotts resigned to return to coaching in high school.

    It was mentioned today on a sports talk show in Raleigh, that Knotts had applied for head coaching jobs in Forsyth Co., Wake Co., and a school in SC near Charlotte. All 3 schools had apparently offered the position. Can anyone verify this? Has he accepted a position?

    A couple other schools in the mix are Indy still, and some folks are saying South Meck. Anybody else heard that South Meck rumor?

    Through a very reliable source I have heard that Tommy Knotts will be taking over his old position as Head Coach at Independence next year.

    Knox will not be going to South Meck. The AD and supporters are very happy with what their coach is doing.

    Smashmouth, I stand corrected. South Meck coach is interested in going to another school...maybe Knox will become a Sabre.

    I ahve heard rumors that his wife likes Durham and wants to stay in this area, dunno how reliable they are though. Southern Durham has an opening as Gordon Walters went to South Brunswick
