Okay, the air is cold, the grass is dry and we all worry that we can't find milk or bread when the weather person says ice, must mean softball season is around the corner. What are some early predictions for each level?

From the west I would have to say Enka and Kings Mountain are a good bet to meet in the 3rd round of the playoffs again this year. Too many players to name here.

A.C. Reynolds should be solid again this year as well. Their Junior Pitcher should be ready to carry the load this year. Amy Huntley :xyzthumbs

ND,WF,Butler,CC could be in that order. WF,ND will probably be one of the best match-ups. ND has always won the conf. but loses in the playoffs. CC will most likely meet Butler in 3rd round . All these teams are loaded with good players at all positions. This could be ND year.

West Forsyth had a 6'0 transfer from Maryland that pitches and plays first that will tryout for the team. This girl supposedly holds the Maryland record for HR's in a season. West should be loaded with all the starters back from a team that finiished 3rd in the state. The pitcher, mckenzie committed to UNC and the girl who plays 2nd signed with a D-1 school in VA. The catcher is also being recruited hard by some D-1 schools and the 3rd baseman is talking to some D-2.

With probably 2 of the best 4A teams in the in the state in the same conference, the ND and WF games this season should be classics. That ND pitcher is amazing and made all-state as a freshman. As long as she doesn't get upset when she pitches, she is almost unbeatable. The WF team has some great hitters and also a great pitcher and catcher. The catcher has a gun. She was only stole on once last year and threw 4 out in one game against ND.

Another really good team in that conference is Davie Co. we only lost 2 from a team that finished 3rd in the conf. behind WF and ND. The shortstop gets to everthing and If everyone stays healthy DC will give WF and ND a run for their money.

First congratulations to Mindy and Kaitiln Wernsing the second baseman who is going to James Madison.
Good point Homer 3. The CPC is a tough conference as they proved last year. Davie county played everyone close and has a great team. They can get-r-done at any time because they played the top well everytime. :applause: Also one team you forgot was South Rowan who beat ND and played a great game in the conference tournament against West. They to have gotten Two very good transfers as well. A pitcher/ss and a catcher/of who bring some impressive stats as well. So it looks like 4 pretty good teams vying for 2 playoff spots. Should be a good year again for the CPC and looks like you will have to bring your A game every night.

    ???????????

Like the New England Patriots, do not pull against the defending State Champs who return 7 players.
By our records, Homer3, Central stole 2 bases against West last year in the State championship, while North davidson had stolen bases by B. Hunt in game 1 against WF, Glossen's PR in game 2, and B. Berrier in game 3. Do not get me wrong, West has a quality club. But the facts are West was 1-3 against ND last season, 1.33 E.R.A on 7 runs (6 earned) and North davidson hit over.230 against West. Central scored 3 runs in one game on West on 4 hits. Just stating the facts of the matter.
    Good Luck to all.

It will be ND going to Ral. this year. CC also what a match up Lambross and Sherrill. That alone would be worth the price of admission . Friends off the field but the gloves will be off on the field. Road to Ral. will be thru Welcome .

As long as Gina Allen is at Central, they will be the team to beat. Gina is a classy young lady one of the best pitchers in the state. She also has a team behind her that supports her with defense (when needed, which isn't often) and an offense that can score plenty of runs. If you can get Gina one run possibly 2 runs at the most, the you can usually put it in the book as a Central win.

I respectfully disagree with ccfastpitch on the stats as the information I was given came from the Davie coach. (you really shouldn't count advancing a base on a wild pitch as a stolen base). ND is and will always be one of the best coached teams in the state. However it seems as if there has been some internal turmoil with some parents and players over the off season and that can be one of the toughest things a team can experience. Coach Lambros should be able to get things worked out and ND will be a tough game for anyone.
