I think you can now add the Carolina Curve to this list. The team will be playing in all the Major Southeast showcases this summer and fall. Young team, gaining attention all over the area.

    Still a question?

If the "elite teams" are so called filled up, how are you supposed to get into these teams? I don't care if they are the best if there are no openings. My point is that the girls of the teams that disbanded got left out without the opportunity to even try for a team that fits their goals and abilities.

    Teams

U are correct the Curve team has great young talent and has played very well. I believe the reason the teams were listed is they have a track record over a few years of getting kids recruited, not saying other teams are not good and do not have potential to do the same thing. The Cardinals have been around for over a dozen years as well as the Bandits and the Dynamites, and the Wildcats have some history, we "new commers" have benefited from their experience. Also, these teams have competed at the highest level over the years at Showcase, regional, and National events. Hopefully, the Curve and others will branch out and assist NC talent in getting noticed even more. Good luck to U! RET

    Elite

The Blues had open tryouts this past August for 18U and 16U. We had 37 young ladies for 18U and I believe 27 for 16U. We had six girls sign to play college ball so we gave many young ladies a chance for those spots. Some parents refused to let their freshman or Sophmore play on the Blues 16U wanting to make sure their child played 18U. Sometimes one more year to improve certain skills and to build confidence goes along way toward improving a kid and getting her ready for the elite tournaments, if U want to call them that name. The problem, as had been said earlier, to many teams formed, talent pool was stressed, and the top girls from the teams that were good locally but could not compete in regionals or nationals decided to move on to a team that is able to compete. Other states have been involved in these issues for years, heck one team out of the NE recruits girls from as far away as Utah! Check the rosters of Texas, Cal, NY. NJ, Arizona, and Colorado teams rosters and the cost to play for them. We have just begun in the Tarheel state. Let's hope we continue to put girls first and not egos and agendas. :xyzthumbs :xyzthumbs

Teams other than the ones mentioned

For a player that can't get on one of the teams listed. Take your current team and play in the recruiting tournaments. The NFCA Dynamites Classic, The Hot Times hosted by the Bandits, (Chandlers) Cardinal Early Bird Tournament, Chandlers Walnut Creek Tournament in July, and Plantation FL. Also the NSA World Series is in Charlotte this year. There will be serveral College Coaches at each of these Tournaments.

As I said earlier, a lot of college players are found when a college coach is watching someone on the other team. PUT YOURSELF IN THE BEST ENVIORNMENT. You can't get to second with you foot on first. If your team doesn't win many games, good players can still get noticed. If you play in tournaments where the competition is weak, Maybe a local college coach will be there but that is it. No coach recruits players based on if their team wins or not.

Loyality is extremely important to a college coach. If you commit to a team honor it for that season!! No matter where they are playing, no matter who is coaching. :laugh1:

    Problem

The main problem is that there is no current team. The team disbanded and left several young ladies stranded basically.

Maybe CF Ball might know of some teams looking for players. Also you could find a good coach and build a team around your remaining core.

What would happen to the elite showcases when all these teams start attending whether they are ready or not? Will this bring more tourns. to NC or water down those already established? Evidently ASA isn't knocking down NCs door to provide tournaments.
