I know there is a NC high school coaches association, but is there one just for baseball coaches? The softball coaches formed their own association last summer and apparently are beginning to make some headway with powers to be at the NCHSAA. Maybe a united and organized voice from from baseball will help get some of our issues addressed. If softball can do it, surely baseball can.

If something isn't done, then football and basketball will continue to get most of the attention. Sports like baseball and softball still practice and play under rules that worked well back in the 60's & 70's, but due to the way the game has evolved (i.e.showcases, travel ball), some of those rules just don't fit like they used to.

The North Carolina Baseball Coaches Association is a well-organized, active group. The maintenance of a consistent voice for baseball with the NCHSAA is one of its numerous responsibilities, along with the naming the state's all-state teams each year. A recent announcement about their annual convention in December indicated that Coach Ron Vincent at Greenville's J.H. Rose High School is a point of contact for the association.

Thanks for the info! How many of the baseball coaches are members? I hope all of them.
