Wes Elkins (Independence): This kid is a very solid player and proved it well as one of the starting pitchers on JV last year. He will definately get a shot in cracking the starting line up either as a number 3 pitcher or at 1st base.

Sam Allen, Soph. OF has already cracked the starting line up but needs to work on his swing at this level of play. Great athlete who should hopefully begin to contribute heavily before too long.

Also Aubrey Meadows, Freshman P who has already gotten some time on the hill due to graduation and injury of other players. This left hander comes from a long line of baseball history in the Mooresville area but needs experience at this level. The NPC can be very unforgiving to young and inexperienced squads with the likes of West Rowan, Kannapolis, East Rowan and NW Cabarrus on the slate.

Steven Mullis and B.J. Bowen at West Meck are 2 sophomores that have the ability to play with the best. Steven is a left handed hitter that can hit the ball to every field. He can play every position on the field (including catcher possibly) and is a great asset to this team. B.J. is a young pitcher but has been doing it for a long time. He has great mechanics and a great head for the game. He also play 3rd base, but I'm pretty sure he can play 2nd or 1st if he had to. B.J. picked up his 2nd varsity win against Garinger last night, and even though it was against Garinger he looked very impressive. At times he shows his immaturity if that's what you want to call it, but at times he looks unhittable. He has a strong young arm and is going to be one to watch for this season, and the next 2.

Steven hit about .320 last season in his freshman year, he started in the outfield. Very impressive player, started playing with the 12 year olds when he was 7 or 8, he's always been playing with guys that are older than him.

B.J. had a pitching record of 1 or 2-0, his performance at the plate was more impressive. He hit .385 with the 2nd most hits on the team (22), behind me, myself, an I.

South Granville - Chris Luck RHP SS Soph. Luck is 6'3 170 and is 1-0 so far this year. He is a mid to upper 80's guy that is going to be very good.
Pratt Maynard RHP 3b 5'11 170 and threw a no hitter in his first HS game he started. He is a mid 80's guy as a Freshman and is going to be special as well. Jeff May Catcher 6'0 205 Freshman. Starts at his posistion as is outstanding. All three of these guys will be called upon to play significant roles on a veteran team that is off to a 2-0 start. All three are outstanding hitters and have played together since they were 7 years old.
