What HS team do you know that has been practicing for four months? :huh:

both varsity and jv how many girls

 

some coaches have talked their ad and principal into allowing a class filled with all softball players. that class will take 2 - 3 days away from regular class (p.e. or health) and practice in school. now i'm not going to spill the beans but it has been going on for some, a long time. the girls don't know it is cheating so they are not in the know that it is wrong. if you want to know if their school is doing this just ask them during travel ball. they don't know its not right. easy to know who is ready and able to step into program if you do it that way. teams are set on dead ready come game time. also practicing with 8 girls a day makes a big difference in the off season. bad thing is if they get caught doing in school practice they will be punished with post-season discipline. not worth the chance and not worth the bragging rights for a few wins to skirt the rules.

You are allowed to have skills development with no morenthen 8 girls during the off season but not during certain dead times. You can also hold conditioning after school with as many girls as want to come but then cannot do anything with the tools of their game. I know the girls have no clue that they are skirting the rules and I will never "spill the beans on anyone" because it would hurt the girls more then anyone. If thats what some coaches need to do. if and when they get reprimanded its on their head and none of my business. To be honest Im sorry I even started down that road with the question(s).

you shouldn't be sorry. good point to bring out. maybe some of the players will read this and step up to the plate and put a stop to it. wouldn't you rather win on equal ground. some people are trying to take the fun out of the game. i like to see girls that can handle losing as good as they handle winning. losing makes you more hungry to win. i like hungry girls in a fastpitch game.

 

I think it is very interesting that folks come on this board, hide behind a screenname, and then make accusations of all types that are directed and focused but they want to appear broad and wide. If you have a problem with someone or something, confront it personally! Coaches who work within the number of players limits and do not violate the dead periods are simply outworking those who are not!

that is why alot of people don't tell which school they are from because if they are not winning then they don't know anything about the game. support a losing team and you get bashed for making any comments about the game. my point on my comment was only directed to why some want to scrimmage the best teams they can. as for hiding behind screen names is ndtiger your first or last name. guess some info we don't want. i'll remember that.
