    Butler-West Meck scrimmage

Anybody have any comments or stats on the Butler vs West Meck scrimmage. Just wondering if Butler will have a team to compete for a playoff spot out of the SW4A.

    Charlotte Christian 7 Ashbrook 2

11 innings, Christian used 11 pitchers with 2 to spare. Each threw 1 complete inning. Hard to single out the performance of any one pitcher, they all threw well and seemed very comfortable on the mound. Hill and Bard definitely throw hard, Barthelson is just nasty with his curveball, Chris Whitley only needed four pitches to complete his inning.Ashbrook had two hits and 1 earned run. Christian hit the ball well but, left quite a few runners on base. Not sure about total hit count but most batters had at least 1 hit. Charles Bradley(SS) went 2-4 with a HR and Dbl and 2 RBI's. Griffin McGuirt(LF) went 2-4 with 1 RBI, Daniel Hill (3RD)went 1-3 with a Sacrifice and 1 RBI. Others that I know had at least one hit were Max Fulginiti,Tyler Kirkpatrick, Matt Ganter, Graham Fronk (dart up the middle),Mason McVerry, and Ryan Leander. Defense for Christian was solid, with only 2 errors. They look very good up the middle with Bradley and Kirkpatrick looking like they've been playing together for years, not weeks. Christian got picked off on the base pads a few times and ran into a few outs. Christian looks solid.

yes, christian did not look bad today for their 1st time outside, theyre bats were alittle slow to begin with but then started to heat things up. pitchers look good as well, i can't recall any errors on christian's part in the field, these guys looked sharp defensively.

anyone know how the providence day/ weddington scrimmage went today?

RJ Reynolds vs. North Forsyth (Sat 2/26)

RJR played a 4 inning scrimmage game against North Forsyth today at West Stokes High School. Hampton Foushee (Sr) and Dustin Johnson (Jr) each pitched two innings for Reynolds. Addison Johnson (Jr) and Wes Hobson (Jr) each threw two innings for North. RJR "won" the game 5-1.

Reynolds scored 1 run off Addison Johnson in the first inning on a walk to Dustin Johnson, a stolen base, and a single by Nick DeRose (Sr). North didn't score until two outs in the third when Stephon Morris (Jr) hit a HR over the leftfield fence off Dustin.

Reynolds broke open the game with four runs off Wes Hobson in the fourth inning. Two errors contributed to the runs, but David Orr (Jr) hit a double over the centerfielder's head to drive in one run, and Drew Bostian (Sr) hit a line drive single to center to drive in two more runs.

Addison only gave up the one hit, struck out 4, but walked 3. He picked one runner off first base.

Hampton gave up no runs on 2 hits. He didn't strike anyone out and he didn't walk anyone either.

Wes gave up 4 runs on 4 hits, struck out 5 and walked 1.

Dustin gave up 1 run on 1 hit, struck out 4 and walked 1.

    The line on the game:

    .....1 2 3 4. R H E LOB K BB
    RJR: 1 0 0 4. 5 5 0. 5. 9 4
    NF.: 0 0 1 0. 1 3 3. 3. 4 1

I played for West last year (graduated), and a few of my friends play this year. I was told that the score was around 7-1, each team had a lot of trouble hitting the ball. I heard Butler has a monster pitching staff, so I'd say playoffs for them. I'm rooting for West after a disappointing season last year, they should come back strong. Their offense within the first 6 hitters is very strong, and their infield is stacked with talent. Butler was good last year and should continue this year, but watch out for West they might surprise some people.

R.J. Reynolds vs West Stokes (Sat 2/26)

Reynolds played a six inning scrimmage game against West Stokes today after their game against North Forsyth. Reynolds "won" this game 8 - 2.

Jay Laramore (Sr) threw 1 inning, Torrey Johnson (Sr) threw 2 innings, Nick DeRose (Sr) threw 1 inning, and Walter Roberts (So) threw 2 innings for Reynolds.

I only know that #12 Jacob Moore (LH) pitched the first 2 innings for West Stokes, and #9 ? Allen (RH) threw the last inning for West.

Reynolds jumped on Moore for four runs in the first inning. Two walks, a bunt single by Dustin Johnson (Jr) and two fielder's choices brought in one run, while a double over the RF head by Torrey Johnson (Sr) drove in 2 more runs. Jay Laramore (Sr) drove in the fourth run with a line drive single to left.

West Stokes came back in their half of the first to score two runs off Jay Laramore. Both runs were scored on a ground ball up the middle by #16 S. Jones. An infield error prolonged the inning for West. There were two outs when the runs scored.

Reynolds scored 1 run in the third inning when Nick DeRose (Sr) drove in Dustin Johnson (Jr) with a single to left.

Torrey Johnson (Sr) came in to pitch the 2nd and 3rd innings and proceeded to play catch with Nick DeRose the catcher. Torrey struck out the first five batters he faced before gaving up a single to #18 Zack Holderfield. The last batter popped out to left field.

Nick DeRose (Sr) pitched one inning and set them down 1-2-3 on two ground balls and a strike out.

Walter Roberts (So) pitched the last two innings for Reynolds. He faced 3 batters in the 5th and 5 batters in the 6th.

Reynolds scored three more runs in their half of the 6th inning. Jacob Martin (Fr) led off with a walk. Hampton Foushee (Sr) hit a line drive single to left and Nick DeRose drove in one run on a single to center. The ball got through the CF which enabled Hampton to score. Torrey Johnson (Sr) drove in Nick with a fielders choice.

    The line on the game:

    .... 1 2 3 4 5 6. R H E LOB K BB
    RJR: 4 0 1 0 0 3. 8 8 2. 5. 7 5
    WS.: 2 0 0 0 0 0. 2 4 3. 5. 8 0

    Mount Airy: 2

Parkland scored five first inning runs again this week. Dusty Joyce (Sr.) got the win on the hill and broke the game open with a 3 RBI triple in the 3rd. Chris "Bubba" Donathan (Sr.) hit a 2 run HR and Jared Dodds (Jr.) hit a solo HR. Jon Helsabeck (Jr.) was walked 3 times and scored everytime. This was the first of two games on the day for the Mustangs.
