    Myers Park over Vance

Myers Park (1-0-1) won at home against Vance. Senior lefthander Cody Drake pitched four innings, giving up three hits and 1 run and striking out eight. Junior Matt Butler closed it out in the top of the fifth getting three straight Cougers, two on strikeouts. Several Mustangs had a couple hits, including Jack Myers and David Castevens. Castevens is now 6 for 8 on the season.

Myers Park is at Hopewell tomorrow. Senior Scott Brewer is the likely starter.

    Davie County v.s. North Iredell

Davie won 4-3 off a game winning hit by Brad Corriher with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh. Senior Timmy Erb pitched an outstanding game giving up 1 or no earned runs and striking out 13. Davie's hitting was a little off, but they got key hits in key situations. Their hitting was led by senior Lance Emert and sophmore Whit Merrifield.
Davie will be a sleeper this year once they get clicking.

Is it true that Bulter lost to Indy 4-0 and 10th grader Wes Elkins pitched for Indy??

    Independence 1 Butler 0

Wes Elkins did pitch for Indy and looked very strong. The sophmore tallied up many Ks and gave up very few hits. Wes pitched until there was 1 out in the 7th when he was relieved by Aaron Bray. With men on 2nd and 1st, Butler hit into a double play to end the game. Independence put the 1st run on the board when catcher Daniel Cooke led off the 3rd with a drag bunt. After he stole second he was moved to 3rd by a ground ball to second by Trey Starnes. Aaron Bray then singled up the middle to score Cooke for 3rd. Indys bats haven't came around yet but still won the game by playing small ball. This team is going to be dangerous when their bats get hot.

    Wow...

    Wakefield - 3
    Cary - 2
    (@ Wakefield)

I believe Dowdy pitched a complete game for Wakefield and Townsend a complete game for the Imps. Sounded like a good game. Wakefield won in the bottom of the 7th, from what I was told... Cary went into the 7th ahead 2-1. Tough break for the Imps, Wakefield is supposed to be one of the best teams in the state while Cary gets zero publicity.

My friends told me not to post this score but yall are going to see it in the paper whether I tell you or not, so I should give an explanation as to what happened.

    E.Meck 25 (17 in the first inning)
    W.Meck 2

    LP-B. Reeves
    Leading hitters from WM

    Reeves..1-3, RBI
    Stringfield..2-3, 2B
    Meadows..1-2, RBI

I don't have any of E.Meck's stats because there are simply too many.

I got there late, and the score was 6-0 in the first inning. I didn't hear all of what happened, but let me put it this way: West only had 2 errors. East Meck came out of the gate hitting the ball. It was unbelievable how they did it. One E. Meck player hit 2 Home Runs, one of them being a 2 Run homer, and one being a grand slam. I swear to you guys East Meck had to have over 30 hits, the West pitchers couldn't do anything. Seth didn't start (That I can't answer why to), he's starting tomorrow at Waddell :wtf23:. I'm not going to knock coach Carpino, but I think if Seth started today, that would have put more experience on the mound, making it a better game. Seth knows how to control a game, and against a team like East Meck, that what you would want on the mound. I guarantee if Seth was pitching the game would've been a lot closer, but that's not my call. Brandon and BJ did not walk many, threw very well...just East Meck was knocking the crap out of the ball, and it was just unreal. If you would have seen it, it would have amazed you guys too.

Like I said, the score should have been a lot closer...but Eat was just hitting the ball like crazy. If not for that first inning it would have been a lot better. I'm not making excuses because they got flat out beat, but it was amazing on East Meck's part.

East Rowan beat a very good North Rowan team today 2-0 . First year coach Hightower seems to have a young Mustang team headed in the right direction in a tough NPC . East will host Davie Friday.

    Rocky Mount over Southern Nash

    Rocky Mount-7
    Southern Nash-6(9 innings)

Terrell Hudgins(05) picked up the win by pitching perfect 7th and 8th innings.

Hudgins also hit a 2-run homer in the 1st inning, the first of his high school career, and the first by a Gryphon in Gryphon stadium in 3 years I believe. Will Johnson(05) had 2 hits, including the game-winning triple in the bottom of the 9th.Jordy Brandt(05) and Jonathan Tyndall(06) also had two hits apiece, while a number of Gryphons had 1 hit.Rocky Mount's record is now 1-0.

Southern Nash also hit the ball very well.Brian Grayley(07) had 3 hits for the Firebirds,as did Brian Allen(07).Southern Nash will be very good on the 3A level if their pitching holds up.Southern Nash's record is now 1-1.
