Our family will be moving soon to the Charlotte/Huntersville area. Anyone out there that can give us information on which High School in the area offers the best academics but also has a great softball coach and program?

One of my summer players goes to Hopewell and she likes the school alot,
If you are moving to the south east part of Mecklenberg Both Providence and Butler are good schools with strong softball programs. Mint Hill and Matthews are also great towns to live in. Close to downtown Charlotte. but not in the Charlotte tax area.
I coach at Butler and am partial toward my Bulldogs. What grade and age is your DD? What positions does she play
    Good luck in your search.

Agree with DAWGFAN - Providence and Butler offer challenging classwork and have solid athletic programs!!!!

since you have the luxury of choosing before you move i would narrow it down to three that interest you in academics then go to some of their softball games this season and see what their coaching and playing is like. if your dd's abilities would fit in and you like the coaching style then go for it. most of us are pretty much locked in whether we like it or not or if dd's abilities are not up to average or better she may find herself watching the game instead of playing. :banginghe

Amen, hispeed, that is one of the biggest problems with softball programs apparently everywhere which is why we are trying to get some ideas or hints from high school players, parents and coaches in the areas we are considing moving into! Thanks for your input it is appreciated.
