    Baseball at North don't even get me started. We ran alot and the ones that actually showed up for practice sit on the bench while the startes were excused from practice because they had other things to do. (meaning if you gave money to the boosters you kid played no matter how talented the kid was)

    Linville is an outstanding person and great coach. If North will allow it he will be an asset to a floundering program. He was the Assistant Head Coach at North Forsyth for the past two seasons, he left Davie with Coach Oakley when Oak was hired for the head coaching position. Linville was the head JV coach at Davie. He is a excellant math teacher and an honorable person.

    Whitlock did get an interview but said he thought he didn't get it because of what teaching position they had open. He teaches PE. He would have been good. As for Coach Linville, he is a great guy, teacher and coach. My son had him in math and played football for him. He did not leave Davie for the reasons you said. He left for more money. I think that he will be good for N. Iredell.

    Thanks for the update. Believe me, A little stability in the FB program would be nice. Good Luck to Coach Linville. Hope hes here for a long time.

    good luck to the new coach at north!! i am a 85 grad . i am a cougar now , but will always love the red and white!!! the new baseball coach is matthew poole. probally one of the best baseball players to come out of iredell co. in a long time.

    Matthew Poole, played at Statesville, and won a state championship. Imagine that a state champion at North trying to revise the baseball program. Are the parents happy???......No. To much running. Sorry but a little disipline never hurt anybody. Much less a program thats a bottom feeder year in year out.
