    Providence 10, Myers Park 3

Details later, I'm headed to the beach. Hendel (sp?) got the complete game win for the Panthers, scattering 11 hits. Providence also had 11 hits, but made theirs count. Mathis took the loss. Dunning went yard and Mailman had three hits, including two doubles, for Providence.

Once again a couple Myers Park misplays in the field and a couple base running mistakes were very costly, breaking open what was a close game for awhile.

Providence looked very strong with the sticks.

    Kannapolis 12
    Statesville 4

Kannapolis swung the bats well throughout the game. Statesville scored 4 in the third to go up 4-2, but the Wonders bounced back very well from Tuesday's tough loss to West Rowan. Jay Hosack got the win, going 5 innings, while Garrett Sherrill had 3 hits to lead the Wonders.

The Wonders open the Easter Tournament next week at the Kannapolis Intimidators' Stadium against Mount Pleasant (I think).

    West Henderson 3, Owen 0
    WP Spencer Linn (4-1) 7 IN, 5 hits, 2 bb, 9 k's
    LP Stephen Hensley 7 IN, 3 hits, 2bb, 8 k's

West Henderson scratched out 3 unearned runs in what turned out to be a very good pitchers duel. 6 pro radar guns there to clock Elon signee Hensley who hit 92. Brevard signee Linn for WH has now thrown 3 straight shutouts.

WH is now 8-1, 5-0 in the WHC.
This is Owens 2nd loss in the conference and I believe makes them 6-3 overall.

6th Straight shutout for WH pitchers and 7 in 9 games this year. West played this game with 3 freshman and 2 sophs on the field.

WH JV's also won tonite to move to 6-0 on the season.

    BANDYS 3 EAST RUTHERFORD 2

East Rutherford wasted a brilliant pitching performance from Michael Melton, losing to Bandys 3-2. Bandys scored 3 runs in the 3rd. Skinner had a bloop single off the SS's glove, Oaks sacrificed him to 2nd, Rowe reached on an error and Johnson walked to load the bases. With the bases loaded, Bubbie Spake lofted a soft fly that fell just in front of the CF, who threw it into the Bandys dugout allowing all 3 runs to score on the play. Those two singles were the only two hits off of SO. Melton, who struck out 14 batters in 6 innings, 13 swinging.

Leading Hitters: ER Brett Walker 2-3, run Robbie Pruett 2-2, 1B, 2B
    Pitching : Bandys - Skinner 7 IP, 2 ER, 1 BB, 1 K
    ER - Melton 6 IP, 1 ER, 1 BB, 14 K

    Bandys 8-0, 3-0
    ER 7-4, 2-2
