A classic! NW Cabarrus scores 5 runs in 7th with bases empty and two outs............

    Final from the Intimidator Classic:
NW Cabarrus 7 Central Cabarrus 6 (8 innings)

In the bottom of the 7th, with two outs, two strikes, bases empty, and a 6 -1 lead, Central Cabarrus starting pitcher Zack Parmer was working on what should have been a no-hitter (Jake Faggart hit a double that got lost in the fog in the 6th) when:
Connor Bean ripped a single up the middle.
Then, Jake Faggart made it safely to first on a throwing error.
Bret Honeycutt walked to load the bases.
    Kyle Seager rips a 3 RBI double, SCORE: 6 - 4
    Jerrod Faggart hits a single
Blake Ketner rips a 2 RBI double to tie the game, 6-6

In the home half of the eighth, Kyle Seager completes the amazing comeback with a 2-out bases loaded double to win the game and complete the Trojans' amazing comeback.

Joe Kent scattered 3 hits over the last 3 innings to pick up the win and was helped by Jake Faggart who made a terrific centerfield catch and threw an absolute strike to second base to complete a double play and end an 8th inning Central Cabarrus scoring threat.

    HITTING:
    NW:
    Kyle Seager: 2-5, 2B, 5 RBI
    Jake Faggart: 1-5, 2B
    Jerrod Faggart: 2-4
    Blake Ketner: 1-4, 2B, 2 RBI

    CC:
    Ryan Laboy: 4-4, 2B, (2) 3B, 2 runs scored

NEXT UP: NW Cabarrus (9-1) plays the winner of Friday's 10:00 am game between Providence and Mt.Pleasant at 7:00pm Saturday.

    1) From I-77, Exit 25 - take 73 East
    2) Stay on 73, entering Cabarrus County (about 5 miles)
    3) Turn left at first traffic signal (Odell School Road)
    4) Go right at fork in road to Windy Road (1 mile)
    5) turn right onto Highway 3 (mooresville/kannapolis highway)
    6) go 5 miles until you reach Kannapolis (Cannon Mills)
    7) turn left at traffic signal at Dale Earnhardt Blvd.
    8) Stay on Dale Earnhardt Blvd. as it circles Cannon Village and turns into Lane Street when it crosses Highway 29.
    9) Follow Lane Street East about 3 miles until you see the Fieldcrest/Cannon Kannapolis Intimidators entrance to your left.

(you will be very near the I-85 exit...just follow I-85 South to go home)

I know this sounds complicated but it beats waiting in traffic........

Spencer Hendel pitched 5 Strong Innings of 1-Run Ball to pick up his 3rd Win & Kyle Kaiser pitched 2 scoreless innings in relief to preserve the lop-sided victory.

The Panthers struck early and often, taking a 7-0 lead after 1 1/2 innings. Super-Soph David Mailman spearheaded the offensive charge 4-5, 3Runs, 1 RBI; Cory Dunning 2-2, 2 Runs; Mike Moore 2-2, 3 RBIs; Ryan Semeniuk 2-2, 2 RBIs; and Keith Mauney 1-3, 2 BBs, 1 OBE, 2 Runs, 1 RBI.

Reserves who saw plenty of playoff action included Andy Holcomb, Erik Somerville, Somner Patterson, Kyle Kaiser, Mark Clayton, and ..............
    WP- Hendel (3-0)

Matchup tonight between #9 (4A) Providence & #7 (3A) NW Cabarrus ought to be a good one!! NW Cabarrus doesn't let the Fat Lady Sing!!

    NWC vs. PHS

This should be a good championship game. Has Providence played South Meck, Independence or North Meck?

The only Mecklenburg County team NWC has played is East Meck (a 3-0 shut out win)

This one was interesting, at least. The Wonders kicked it around a bit, while Weddington walked, seriously, I lost count at 12 Wonders. Might have been as many as 17. The Wonders only had 4 hits, so we were glad to accept the free passes. Brian Little was the winner, in relief of Ryan Query, who pitched better than his stat line will probably show.
