Parkland scores

Sorry everyone scores are a little behind but my computer crashed week before last and with high school and travel ball its hard to sit down for a few minutes some times so here is an update on parkland high school softball for the last two weeks.

Parkland defeated Greensboro Dudley 14-0 behind freshman pitcher malia craft's first no hitter. she recorded 12 k's and only 3 walks one of which was thrown out a second by freshman catcher Ashley Myers. Ms. Craft also had 3 homeruns, 2 of which would have been out if they weren't playing on a 285 ft. fence. Ms. Myers also went 1-2 with a double and 2 walks.

Parkland lost to Rockingham County last Friday in a rain drenched 7 innings. once again ms.craft lead the team by going 2-3 with a double.

Last night Parkland defeated SW Guilford 5-3 in what was probably their best game of the year thus far. Ms. Craft pitched very well giving up no earned runs and once again led the hitting attack going 2-4 while also getting some help from fellow freshman LeAnn Flowers who went 2-3 with a double and junior Jenny Sternicker who also went 2-3 with a double including driving in the two runs to win the game in the bottom of the sixth with two outs and the bases loaded.

Parkland is now 4-5 overall and 2-3 in district again not bad when you are starting 6 freshmen. :rockinsmi

GLAD TO SEE ROBINSON BACK ON THE WINNING TRACK-SURE HAVE HAD A SO SO YEAR.WHAT TURMOIL THAT PROGRAM HAS BEEN THROUGH IN 4 YEARS, FROM THE BEGINNING THEY COULD HAVE BEEN ONE OF THE BEST 3A TEAMS AROUND. BUT 3 COACHES IN 4 YEARS, 2 THAT DID NOT KNOW THE GAME, SOME OF THEIR BEST PLAYERS RUN OFF.I HAVE HEARD ALOT OF FUSTRATION FROM PARENTS WITH CHILDREN AT THAT SCHOOL. I DO KNOW THEY HAD A VERY GOOD CATCHER THAT DID NOT PLAY HER SENIOR YEAR,AND THEY HAD A FRESHMAN PITCHER THEIR FIRST YEAR THAT DID A AWESOME JOB. JUST THINK WHERE THAY COULD BE NOW. I KNOW ALOT THESE GIRLS FROM SUMMER BALL. AT LEAST NOW THEY R GETTING RID OF THEIR AD AND MAYBE THEY WILL GET A REAL SOFTBALL COACH INSTEAD OF A FILL IN FOOTBALL COACH-GOOD LUCK BULLDOGS

Lake Norman at NW Cabarrus game suspended in the bottom of the 4th inning with NW Cabarrus leading Lake Norman 9-1. Game to be completed later.

 

Cape Fear Scores

(4-12-05) Cape Fear defeated EE Smith 12-0 and improved their record to 12-2 and 5-1 in the conference.

Kim Page had 11 strikeouts in the five inning contest, which was her first PERFECT GAME of the year!!!!!

Kim has four one hitters and three one hitters on the year. She has a .14 ERA 133 K's given up 37 hits in 99 innings 11 walks and and only allowed 9 runs this year.

The Colts hit two homeruns in the game.
