The CAP-6 starts their conference play tomorrow night. Wakefield opens on the road at Millbrook. This should be very interesting with Millbrook's Jacob Allen, (committed to Campbell), Sam Brown (on a lot of colleges' hot list), BJ Dail (D-1 hot list as well, going up against a Wake Field team that is 11-0 with three D-1 signees and two juniors with D-1 recruiting them. I would anticipate, baring inclement weather, seeing Dowdy (ECU signee, with 92mph fastball and three other polished pitches) going against Sam Brown. Not to mention, Wakefield plays host to Wake Forest Rolesville Friday night. This should be a great game as well as is pits NCSU signee Taylor against App. St signee Quate. There should be a lot of scouts and fans there as this is a big rivalry. It will be interesting how everything turns out.

Big Week it is for Wakefield, Millbrook and WFR have outstanding players on their teams. The Millbrook players, Allen, Dail and Brown are outstanding and Taylor at WFR is a heckuva player. This should be an excellent week of games for this league.!!

    Wakefield beats Millbrook 5-1

From what I was told, #1 Wakefield (12-0) won the game 5-1. ECU signee Josh Dowdy pitched a four hitter, while striking out 14 and not walking any. Also, he struck Dail out three times and Brown twice. My buddy said that Dowdy had all four pitches working great and that two of the hits were bloops over the infield, another hit had eyes and the lone run Millbrook scored was unearned. Offensively, Wakefield was led by junior center fielder Bobby Leeper. He scored three of the five runs and had either two or three hits and a walk. App. St signee Zach Quate had an rbi single in the seventh.

As far as the coach for Wakefield, that would be Ed Hall. Notable players on the team are as follows: Josh Dowdy-rhp-ECU, Stephen Halford-ss-UNCW, Zach Quate, rhp/3b, App. St., Bobby Leeper-junior, r/r-cf-6.8 speed, Logan Isaacs-junior, r/l-2b-6.9 speed, Tanner Melton-rhp-mid 80's-12/6 breaking ball, Bobby Osbourne, rhp-upper 80's, deft change up, Kyle Staton-junior-r/r-catcher-2.1-2.2 pop times. Wakefield is probably the deepest pitching and hitting team I have seen this year!

On another note, I heard that Greenville Rose's Garrett Bullock no-hit Rocky Mount this evening.
