NW Cabarrus: 9 North Iredell: 2

Wow! North Iredell really is improved! This was a 3-2 ballgame until the 6th inning when NI starter, Brandon Padgett gave up a 2-run double to Connor Bean. After Bean scored on a wild pitch and Padgett was relieved, Jerrod Faggart struck for his second towering 2-run HR in as many nights to seal the deal.

Kyle Seager drove in 2 runs and Ryan Wildrick had a solo shot in the 2nd inning. (The Trojans have hit 5 HRs in 2 nights). Nick Daniels pitched out of trouble many times in his 6+ innings of work for the win. Joe Kent nailed down the victory in the 7th.

NEXT: The Trojans travel to the much-improved Mooresville Blue Devils Monday night.

Then he led off the Cavs 6th with a long double as the Cavs added 2 insurance runs. Parker Tate had a big night for ER, going 3-4 with 3 RBI's.

    Piedmont 4 Robinson 3

Piedmont (12-2) (7-0) had a come from behind win of 4-3 against Robinson. Bryan Parker pitched the first 5 innings and gave up 3 runs, 4 hits and 7 walks. With all the rainouts he had thrown 3 innings in 3 weeks and the rust showed. Bryan had only given up 2 walks all year before this game.
Robinson had a 3-1 lead going into the bottom of the 5th when Piedmont got 2 unearned runs on a passed ball and a throwing error. Piedmont scored 1 in the 6th on a 1B by Dallas Tarelton.
Tim King pitched the final two innings with no hits and 5 strikeouts. He really looked sharp. King also had an RBI and Rob Lyerly was 2-4. Tarelton was 2-3 with and RBI and his courtesy runner (Scott "Biscuit" Estes) scored 2 runs.

Piedmont is @ Anson on Monday and a huge game @ Sun Valley on Tuesday. Sun Valley has only one loss in conference (3-2 @ Piedmont earlier in the year) and this game will go a long way on who wins the conference championship.

    Hopewell 3 North Meck 0

WP - Dusty White LP - Zack Rosenbaum

An exciting and intense game for fans and parents, as well as for the players. Score was 0 to 0 into the 6th inning. Both teams were making some great defensive plays, including a line out to White mid-way into the game, who turned it into a key double play. Titan Catcher Matt Cochran had a great game defensively as well. Zack Rosenbaum was throwing almost perfectly through the 5th, with North Meck having a few scattered hits along the way. In the 6th inning, neither Dusty nor Zack showed any signs of tiring. In the bottom of the 6th, Zack Turton led off the inning with a walk, followed by a bunt sacrifice by Adam Waters, followed by an infield single by Andy Oliver. Then Brett Richardson had a clutch triple to bring home the first two runs. Dusty White then sacrificed to deep centerfield to score Brett, making the score 3-0 Titans. In the top of the 7th, the first batter for North reached on an error. Next two batters grounded out, which brought up Mike Cavisinni, who had 2 singles earlier in the game. Cavi hit a line drive back at Dusty, who caught it for the 3rd out and the shutout. The game was a heartbreaker for North Meck, and a joyful celebration for the Titans - particularly the three seniors - White, Richardson and Gardner. The last half of the season for the Meca-8 teams should be very interesting.

    South Meck - 11 vs Olympic - 0 (Friday 4/15)

Don't have all the details, will update later.

    WP - Morris
    LP - Conrad

South Meck kept the bats going scoring 11 runs in 5 innings...Morris pitched 5 shutout innings stiking out 6, allowing only 2 hits and no walks.

South Meck will finish their "rain delayed" game with Providence today at 1:00. The score is tied 1-1 in the top of the 4th inning...SM has runners on first and third with one out. Should be an exciting finish.

    S Meck 5 PHS 3 (10 innings)

Great game played by two solid teams. They resumed their suspended game in the top of the fourth tied 1-1. Ryan Morris' RBI double had knocked in SM's first run in the second and Keith Mauney's RBI double answered for PHS in the third. SM plated the go ahead run in the fourth on an errant pickoff attempt at third base. PHS came right back in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI single by David Scism. The game went into the eighth tied 2-2. SMeck plated a run in the top of the eighth on a dropped outfield fly with two outs. PHS was down to their last out with no one on in the bottom of the eighth, but three straight singles knotted the score at 3-3. Mitch Besselivere tired in the top of the tenth and, after an infield single and a hit batter, he gave way to Shane Small. Small gave up singles up the middle by Ryan Morris and Cyril Daniels before he retired the side. Daniels' hit plated runs 4 and 5 for the Sabers. The Panthers put runners on first and second with one out in the bottom of the tenth, but an inning-ending doubleplay grounder ended their hopes of victory. Matt Layman went the first 7+ inings for the Sabres and pitched a great game. Layman and Besselivere were at the tops of their game both Tuesday night and Saturday afternoon. Ryan Morris relieved Layman in the eighth, then TJ Worrell pitched the final two innings to nail down the win.

    WP: Worrell (4-1)
    LP: Besselievre (4-2)

**PHS' lead in the SW4A is now down to One Game (7-1), with South Meck and East Meck tied for 2nd at (6-2). Butler is in 4th @ (5-3).
