    Hickory beat Burns (#6 in Impact 3A poll) 4 to 1 tonight. Hickory improves to 5-3 in conference play while Burns drops to 4-3. Crest also defeated Fred T. Foard tonight to move to 6-2. St. Stephens beat RS Central 7-0. Kings Mountain was idle.

    Its a shame that there are only 2 playoff spots in the Southwestern Foothills this year - Crest, Burns, KM & Hickory all should go to the playoffs.

    NC Preps identifies its top 10 and 7 additional honorable mentions in its latest 3A poll. Crest, Hickory, Burns and Kings Mountain are included in the top 17 teams identified in 3A in NC, yet only 2 will make the playoffs. Its a shame that 2 of the top teams in the state in 3A will stay at home come playoff time.
