Last week Baseball America/Perfect Game posted their updated list of the top 850 players for the 2005 class on Prospects Plus. Twenty-seven players from the state of NC were listed in their rankings. As we all know, rankings are very subjective and at the end of the day rankings are nothing more than opinions. While BA/PG does have a very good track record with their selections, there are always kids ranked too low or not mentioned at all. In looking at the most recent list, I see a couple of guys that I think merit recognition. The first player is Zach Rosenbaum from N. Meck who is an outstanding RHP that can hit 93 on the gun. The second player is Steve Halford from Wakefield. Steve has really bulked up this year and is without a doubt one the top players in the state of NC. I am sure there are others that could have made the list, so in looking at the names below, who do you think deserves inclusion on the list. Understand that these rankings are based on projectability at the next level and sometimes a great HS player doesn't project well at the pro or college level because lack of size, speed etc. This could be a fun thread that provides recognition to deserving players and not one that argues if this kid is better than that kid. Have at it.

I see that PG still thinks Goodpasture High School outside of Nashville is in NC, not Tennessee.....

Does anyone else think that the absence of Addison Johnson from this list seems strange? I'm sure we could talk long and often about players we think should be here.

I may have been hasty with this post if Addison is a class of 2006 guy which I think he is..

Addison is a 2006 graduate. The updated BA list is a 2005 list. Baseball America also has a 2006 list that includes Addison.
