Indy Coach--Ron Coltrane...simply one of the best

10th or 11th inning...scored tied 1-1 between Independence vs North Meck. Indy had a runner on 3rd with two outs. Zach Rosenbaum on the bump for North Meck.

Rosey goes to the windup and throws.......runner on third breaks for home....safe!!!!! Indy wins 2-1!!!!!! The man is just unbelievable time and time again!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure if Coach Coltrane or Coach Dykema called the play but Daniel Cooke executed it to perfection. I think everyone got their money's worth last night. Not only was their great pitching but some great effort in the field as well.

That's why your younger pitchers should go to the stretch with a man on 3rd.

I was wondering if someone was going to pick that up.

I talked to the Indy coaches today and it was Coach Dykema, the 3rd base coach, that told Cooke to steal home. Gutsy call and it worked perfect. Congrats to Indy on a big win.

Congrats to Coach Dykema for his gutsy decision, but remember, it takes a confident HC to allow something like that to happen. I can't imagine any other school in Charlotte where a HC would allow his assistant to make that decision...it speaks volumes of respect even more towards Coltrane.

It was a great game between two great teams. Congratulations to both schools...they represent Charlotte well!

That's why I believe you cannot manage a game AND coach third base. Pick one and leave the other to your assistants. Otherwise, your head has to be in 2-3 places at once - Something will suffer - bullpen management, pinch hitting, pinch running, base running, etc. Seen it over and over over and over and over and over this year alone. And ironically, by Coltrane giving up the "glory" of coaching 3rd, look at the recognition it brought him anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:D...I saw a game the other day where the coach had his relief pitcher throw in the bullpen for an inning. When it was time for him to go in....bam, the coach brought in someone else that tossed one pitch during his warmup. ~unbelievable~

Slightly different, but Abbott & Costello are alive and well. Who's on second? No Who is coaching third. . . . .:lalala:
