    Parkland @ Smith

    Greensboro Smith: 10
    Parkland: 7

With on-field leader Jon Helsabeck on the DL due to a knee injury, the Mustangs had to look somewhere else and no one stepped-up. The Mustangs made 5 errors allowing Smith to score 8 un-earned runs. Parkland's leading hitter was Sophomore Jonathan Ray who went 2-3 2 RBI's but he couldnt do it all. The Mustangs still have their playoff hopes alive having to run the table in the last 4 games to have a shot. The Mustangs will not know until game time Friday if Helsabeck will play or not. He has 2 hematoma's and 3 muscle contusions in the knee and will practice lightly the rest of the week.

Should be a great battle and a great way to end the CPC season.

    Myers Park 4, Butler 0

Junior Jordan Cudney pitched 5 innings for the Mustangs, allowing only one hit to record the win on his 17th birthday. Jordan's curveball was nasty tonight. Matt Henney pitched the 6th, allowing a hit and a walk, and Matt Butler closed for Myers Park with a 1-2-3 inning, giving the Mustangs an all-junior shutout.

Offensively, junior Scott Matthews again led the Mustangs, going 2-4 with 3 runs scored. Junior Billy Zweir had an rbi single on the big night for the Mustang junior class. Senior Jack Magee also had an rbi single, and senior Cody Drake also had a hit.

The Mustangs finish 5-2 in the second half to get even in the SW4A at 7-7, tying Butler for 5th and heading into next week's tournament with some momentum.
