    Games at Independence

Hopewell over West Meck and Independence over Harding. Dusty White pitched three innings to pick up the win for Hopewell and John Danza pitched five innings to pick up the win for Independence. Both games went 4 1/2 innings.

These 8:00 games are crazy. At the SM field the 8 game didn't get started until almost 9........if it wasn't for a 4.5 inning game it could have lasted til the wee hours...and certainly past my bedtime.

I agree. The first round isn't too bad, but this 2nd round tonight could be tough. I expect that all the games will go the distances and extra innings is more of a probability than just a possibility.

I've got my camper decked out and I'm trying to find a way to string a hammock behind the backstop over at Hopewell for the games tonight. The way these 4 teams go at each other, we may have a sunrise service to go along with the end of game #2 tonight.

Does anyone know who the starting pitchers are for round #2?

I know both Indy and Hopewell are in a must win tonight to guarantee a berth in the states. Central Cabarrus has to win out in order bump the loser of the Indy/Hopewell game out. It's a huge game for all 3 of those teams.

My guess was: Indy (Bray) vs Hopewell (White) and Central (Killian) vs North (Porter), but I heard that White threw 3 innings yesterday against West Meck. Is Harper or Oliver scheduled to start tonight for Hopewell?

My wife had a field day with this.
This format does not make much sense.

8PM games on a school night. By the time I got uniforms washed, it was 1AM. I guess that two of the high schools in each conference reeps the benifit of the additional "Gate" generated by having a double header.

Some of these kids have to get up and catch a bus @ 5:30 AM.

I guess that I mis-understood the game scheduling.

I thought that each higher seed would host the first round of the playoffs, then move to the next higher seed location; with finals being held at UNCC.

I know that most people are afraid to say anything, as not embarass their kid, so what is the alternative. As adults, we should not accept " well, that is the way we have always done it"

Sometimes we forget that this is about the kids.... not the gate- IMHO

    Good point bbrksfan ....

But it doesn't get any better on Thursday. The SW4A has the 5PM game at Charlotte and the Meca 8 Championship will start at 8PM.

If the SW4A finals is Providence vs South Meck .... well ... they have a history of extra inning games too. I'm setting up Mudcat's camper in the parking lot ...

You're going to have to tow it from Shelby. It's out of gas

Then again, I don't remember seeing a gas tank for it. Mudcat always just pushes it from the mountains and let's someone else tow it back up.
