I'll add the 2A/1A when the brackets get a bit fuller over on the NCHSAA

Wow the brackets are strong for both 4-A and 3-A.

Pops...why don't you set up a contest to see who can post the most winners for Tuesday's games.

Ok ... done, but it's too hard to keep up with score-keeping if we try to score all 64 games going on tomorrow ... I've picked 12 ....

I'll pick another 12 for Friday ...... After that, the pick-em contest will cover all of the remaining games. Each game correct is 1 point. There are two games (not revealed until after each round is played) that are worth 5 points.

Max Score 20 points/round. Two lucky picks and you could climb back into the contest.

    No Thanks

That would be like p***ing in the wind. :1piss: Picking the 1-A and 2-A schools would be pure guesswork for me. No offense intended, but I've never heard of some of them. Now if you want to do a 4-A contest, I'll play.

The first round is just loaded with good games and potential upsets, but three just jump out at me. These could easily have been late round match-ups if the draw had been different. I wish I could be at all three places:

    Millbrook at Rose
The two-time defending champ faces a tough test right off the bat. This could be the upset of the tournament.
    Independence at North Forsyth
Last year's western champ against one of this year's favorites. Robbie Bray on the mound for Independence makes this one a toss-up, especially if Addison Johnson isn't ready to pitch again yet.
    Franklin at Ashbrook
Wow. I had to do a double-take on this one. Both these teams are capable of beating anybody in the play-offs (except a TC Roberson team if it comes to play). Franklin will score some runs in this one, the question will be whether Ashbrook will bring their sticks, too. I predict a pretty high-scoring game.

But since I can't go to all three of those, I'm going to go watch East Meck at North Meck. Brett Alter vs. Tom Porter or Zach Rosenbaum -- that could be a good one, too. I predict a low scoring pitcher's duel. Alter can be really tough, especially the first time you see that splitter of his. And Porter and Rosie are two of the best in the state. I predict North will win a close one in a low-scoring battle, unless they get to the East bullpen and then it might not be so close.

Will Addison Johnson be on the mound?

I heard a rumor that Johnson would be on the mound against Independence tomorrow night. Can anybody give any info on if he is or not?
