Pretty hard to hold SE Guilford scoreless. Ragsdale with Kensmoe pitching did it their last game, so I predict the SE bats will come back alive and score at least 5 runs, unless Timmy King is better than I think he is....:229031_ha We shall find out soon enough.

    No predictions. (Superstitious!!!!!!!)

But the key to Piedmont success is Danny Hermann in the clean-up spot. The top of the line-up with Tarelton and Lyerly will get on but someone has to get them in. Hermann has 7 HR's this year. Early in the year he hit 4 HR's in 3 days. Three weeks ago he hit 3 HR'S in 2 days. He looked much more deceplined at the plate in the Sun Valley game. He could have a breakout game against SE. When he is hot he can carry this team.

Another key is if King does get some runs against him, how will he handle adversity. He was down late in the Weddington game due to an unearned run but was strong at the end of the game.

I've heard that SE Guilford aren't really power hitters, but they can slap it around. I think Piedmont has what it takes to win this game:bananalam , but I have yet to see SE Guilford play any baseball..:imagestor

I also heard Garrett Sherrill will pitch vs Sun Valley..:banginghe lights out Sun Valley..:umno:

I doubt he fans 15 against the contact hitters on this team. We played them three times this year, one we lost and two we won. Their "weak" point of the team is that they don't have a pitching "ace". They'll hit the fastballs all day long, so King will need to mix it up well if Piedmont wants to win.

Remember, this team has also beaten Eastern Randolph this season, which is not an easy accomplishment at all.

I'm not from SEG, just would like to see the conference do well.

Yeah definitely. I think it would be smart for King not to try to fan any batters tonight, but establish a fastball- and work off a curveball, and change-up. When SEG beat E. Randolph, the score was 18-16 so both teams must not have put their best out on the field, (pitching wise)..What school are you from? Ragsdale? I think the Piedmont bats could do well, especially if SEG doesn't have an "ace"

Timmy King threw a 1 hit, 9 strikeout shutout tonight in the first round of 3A state playoff action. The Panthers went on to win 3-0 over SE Guilford
