S MECK Gameday report!

No seriously just had a conversation with my old nemesis (Bagwell) over at Quail Hollow after my Babe Ruth game ti s'am and he says the TEAM is ready and Morris will likely be on the hill! He knows of a job or two so I as always hope to be in the mix soon. Couldn t help but brag on my son's great diving catch out in left field to save two runs! Good luck to both teams should be a dandy!

 

As long as the South Meck players relax and each player not try to do too much, they should be fine.

You will know after the 3rd inning who will win the game. If EM is close after 3, they will win. If SM is going to win, they will break the game open between the 1st and 4th.

Another key for South is getting their leadoff runner on and not getting picked off or thrown out. Many times this year they get two out consecutive hits....only to see them stranded. If they play smart, fundamental baseball today, they will be victorious.

Oh...and they better not hit balls down towards 3rd base...automatic out

Sounds exactly like my team here in 03! That is exactly the same thing as what happened in almost alllllllllllllllll our 8 losses that year! It ll be TENSE I know Tom! Good luck...to both teams! BOY had one of the happiest moments in my time here in C lotte as a Daddy bursting with pride as my boy dove full extensions and saved the moment for us! EMeck was the overacheiver of the year in the cental piedmont

 

Details: South Meck 7 vs. East Meck 3

South Meck, who had lost ALL 3 of the SW4A regular season games when playing each other, won 7-3 against East Meck in the game that was the most important of these two team’s meetings this past season in their 2nd round of NC 4A state play-off game! South jumped on East’s starting pitcher early. South Meck did most of its damage with 2 outs scoring 6 runs when facing the end of an inning. South went ahead 2-0 in the 1st after the lead off batter got a hit followed by South’s 2nd batter with a single and then South’s 3rd batter with a double. South added 2 more runs to their score in the 2nd by putting 4 runners on base with 2 outs going ahead with East only picking up 1 run making the score 4-1. Then South went ahead 5-2 in the 5th with East scoring 1 run in the 5th and then South added 2 more runs in the 6th making the score 7-2 then East Meck was only able to add 1 more run in the 7th to make the final score South Meck 7 vs. East Meck 3. South Meck is now truly playing like a state-play off team!

 

The key for South all year is their hitting. If the team could have averaged 5 runs in every game...they would have been 25-2 with the losses coming from Charlotte Christian and Butler. The only two games that South was clearly beaten.

Tuesday night will be fun with Providence. I suspect Coach Hignight will intentionally blow out a light again as the game stays close ...just kidding Panthers.

I only have one question to Gbacks....is Mitch B's arm microbionic? Between he and Robbie Bray...those guys must have Supernatural arms.

This is a game that usually lives up to the hype....but it will be determined by the team that does not get caught up in it. If past games are any indication, this one will be the most intense and exciting!

 

bessies arm is indeed bionic. when retooled it resulted in a down under slot that can hurl about 900 pitches an outing at a speed of about 80... but the key is in his bionic fingertips which can direct the pitch out, down and out, in, down and in. the only thing he's missing is the rising fastball

 

Change in 3 Round Play-Off game time...

South Meck will now play Providence in the 3rd Round of the NC 4A State Play-offs on Tuesday, 5/24 @ Providence @ 7:30pm not 7:00pm!

 

why not 8 00

or 8 30 they only have school the next day preppon for finals suppposedly! ? Not good...
