I am a good source for news on Morgan Tyson actually (aren't I Braves). :biggrina: He did get hit in the face off of a ball hit by Maikol Gonzalez. It knocked out his two front teeth (breaking one into pieces). One of those pieces of teeth went into his tongue and actually ended up getting pushed through his tongue (yes, he really had a piece of his tooth end up going all the way through his tongue). He has had a root canal, a ton of stitches, some minor surgery, and is facing another root canal. So, that is the bad news. The good news: No long term physical effects. The doctors were able to save his original teeth including the one in pieces. Morgan started staying with the team less than a week after it happened during the Region X tourny. He actually got back to the mound last night facing live bats during practice less than two weeks after sustaining the injury. Don't know if he is going to pitch during the regional championships but feel pretty good that he will be good to go if Louisburg goes out to the JUCO World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado. Thanks for asking!!!

Well, Louisburg couldn't pull off a win against Potomac State in two games yesterday. Louisburg ends the season with a record around 50-12 (approximately) and regular season conference champs and conference tournament champs. :trophy: So much for those saying Louisburg baseball was on the decline. I beg to differ!!!! Great season for the guys who had to go through a lot of different injuries and always had guys stepping up.

I commend them for winning the conference as I said last year they were on not at the top of the conference anymore. I still stick with my comments from last year though saying Surry is the top team in Region X now with Louisburg and Spartanburg close also. Louisburg is no where near what they used to be during Frazier's years, so that's what I am saying when I say they are on the decline.

Free to have your opinion but you were wrong this year and I think you will be wrong again next year. Godwin is one heck of a recruiter and while they were very disappointed with last year, I think he showed what he can bring into Louisburg this year and from what I hear, next year will have a similar class. Godwin is committed to keeping Louisburg on top and on top they will stay (in my opinion). 03-04 was the anamoly based off of what I saw Godwin bring in this year and what he has returning. Just my opinion which is worth basically nothing besides the fact that I was the one stating that it was wrong to place Surry on top after a year or two of great success and so far, my opinion seems to be standing up to the test.

Your opinion is respected by me as well. They did bring in a great class and had a great year. Surry also had one heck of a year, losing by a run to Louisburg in the championship. We'll have to see who Louisburg brings in and who Surry brings in to decide on next year. Both teams have been conspicuosly (sp?) quiet this year about signees, but I'm sure they will both have stellar classes. Anyone who attends a game between these two schools knows that rivalries are alive and well in the JUCO ranks as both teams lay it all on the line when they face off. And about Surry being at the top the last 1 or 2 years, if you check the past three championship games you will find Surry three times, Louisburg twice and Spartanburg once. All three have won the region tournament in the last three years. SMC beat Surry in 2003, Surry beat Louisburg in 2004 and Louisburg beat Surry in 2005. I think they can all be spoken of in the same breath can't they?
