    SOUTH MECK 11 Providence 3

South Meck came to Play and PHS didn't. South Meck pounded out 19 hits and PHS made quite a few fielding errors to add to the insult. After jumping out to a 1-0 Lead in the bottom of the 1st, PHS gave SMeck 5 unanswered runs in the 2nd and 3rd. PHS Starter and Loser, Shane Small, pitched 3 innings and deserved a better fate. He pitched well but the fielding behind him cost him dearly. SM Starter and Winner, Matt Layman, was effective all night til he gave way to closer, Matt Andress. Andress kept PHS off the board and struck out the side in the 7th.

South Meck probably could have had more runs. Mitch Besselievre was called into action once again in the fourth, but how much can you expect out of the ACE? He pitched 4 innings tonight in addition to the 10 he pitched last Tuesday and Saturday. Lack of Pitching Depth caught up with the Panthers tonight.

The BETTER TEAM Won Tonight. Congrats to the SABRES. The Panthers finish 25-5 and had a tremendous Season.

    HHS beats TCR

What a battle. HHS jumped on Thrailkill early and never let up. Sophomore Ben Gibbs turned in a stellar performance. Boyd, Harrow, Dickson, and Boliek led the way in hitting. Maybin had his usual good game, but couldn't pull them through. TCR didn't realize what hit them until it was too late. HHS meets NWC in the next round. What happened in the east?

    3A east

Southern Alamance beat Clayton, and the West Carteret/South Central game was suspended until tonight. Stopped in the 2nd inning I believe, with WC leading 4-2.

    missing school does not pay

things kids do sometimes don't make sense to adults and those in charge. i'm certain everyone involved has regrets.

    West Forsyth 9 - Independence 6

This game stayed close the entire way. West Forsyth took advantage of timely hits. I doubt there were many men left on base for West. Indy showed some heart and loaded the bases in the top of the seventh but couldn't push any runs accross. It was a great year for Indy and they should feel good about their season. After a short break (about 20 hours) I can head to a legion game and start all over! Good luck to South Meck the rest of the way. West will be a formidable foe but I've got to pull for the locals(I'm with ya Braves). Three of the final four teams in the West were from Charlotte. Not too shabby!
