New Coaches

It was announced today that Ray Chandler will be the first head coach for the new Reagan High in Forsyth County. Reagan will play as a 3A school and all sports are supposed to play a varsity schedule with no seniors at the school. The school will draw from the northwestern portion of Forsyth county with the attendance district carved from current districts which feed North Forsyth, West Forsyth and Mt. Tabor. Best of luck to the Reagan Raiders !!!

 

Reagan is getting the best coach in the state of North Carolina. Ray was a fastpitch guru when all of us were hitting pitches with an 8 foot arch.

most of you young Good Coaches were at 8 foot arch and he would agree....you guys have learned well!!

 

There isn't a coach around with more class and humility than Ray Chandler. Everything he does is for the benefit of the girls. He wants none of the praise or credit for the success any of his past or current players achieve. He wants all the praise to go the players. His players as well as college coaches hold him in the highest regards because his opinions can always be trusted and his values are high.

Coach Chandler continues to give all his time and efforts towards the growth and promotion of the players in NC. Just this evening, after he completed a very hot skills session with a few of his Cardinal players, on his way home, Coach Chandler stopped by my 10U team practice to offer his support and encouragement. It would have been so easy for him just to head home, but instead he gave a few minutes of his time to brighten the day of a team of (hopefully) future Cardinals.

I feel very fortunate to have had my oldest daughter play for him and Coach Baity the past 2 years at West Forsyth HS as well as for her being selected to now play for Ray as a Carolina Cardinal. My daughter wants to be a college coach one day and she is so fortunate to play for one of the best teachers of the game. Many of Ray's past players have or are currently coaching at the high school or college level and that in my opinion, is a true indicator of a great teacher.

There are other of coaches in NC who have the same qualities as Ray, but I doubt too many of us have the same amount of heart.

no doubt in my mind that Ray is the BEST coach in NC........one who i respect for his love of the game, its players and Who can lead this state to the next level when it comes to uniting Softball at the NCHSAA Level!

Bmac1 you are right on. Ray is a great coach and the Cardinals are a great team. I especially like to watch the girls succeed on the field and share it with Ray. He is a very unique individual. Definitely broke the mold after him.
