Not only is Damien an extremely talented young man, but he is an equally all american kid as well. He did something two years ago that illustrates what kind of character he has...and it placed Damien high on Braves' best player list.

It was a tense playoff game at Providence and Damien was at the bat against Independence. He had the winning run on 2nd with one out...Damien struck out. (now here is the thing that I always watch in a kid). He didn't yell at the umpire, he didn't throw his bat or helmet and he didn't go into the dugout and have a tantrum. No...what Damien did was to run back, place his bat and helmet where it was supposed to go, walked over to the fence and cheered on his teammate batting next. That said a lot to me about the type kid Damien is.

Dont know him very well but look forward to watching him all summer. Watched him pitch a gem today as well as going yard "oppo" into the wind at the Sarge in Columbia. All I could think was ,"Man was North Meck loaded this year!!!!!!!!!!!! "
