    Area 1 West:

    Round 1
    North Raleigh over Cary
    Garner over Lee County
    Fuquay over Benson(?)
    Northern Durham over Chapel Hill

    Round 2
Garner over Fuquay in Game 1
North Raleigh over Northern Durham in Game 1

    Round 3:
Garner/Fuquay vs North Raleigh/Northern Durham.... the winner will play the Area 1 East winner for the Area 1 Title. This year, only the winner of Area 1 advances to the State Tourney rather than winner and runner-up.

    Area 1 East:
Not sure, but I know Kinston eliminated Snow Hill early on.

    Area 1 West

North Raleigh squeeked out a 11-10 win in 13 innings last night @ Millbrook High School. They will play the winner of the Garner/Fuquay Series starting Thursday night.

Congratulations to both teams on an outstanding season and game. Neither team ever gave up during the 13 inning marathon.

I think I heard that Fuquay won their game 9-4, to tie up their series 1-1. Can anyone confirm this? Does anyone know where the game is being played tonight, i.e. Garner or Fuquay?

Should be at Garner tonight. I can double-check though.

Do you mean "goes to Cherryville" instead of "goes to Shelby" possibly since Cherryville, NC is where the AL NC State Championship is being held this year or does Area I have to participate in some type of play-offs in Shelby before heading to Cherryville for the state tournament...just wondering?!?

Area I only sends one team to the state tournament in Cherryville this year. I'm sure my good eastern "buddy" just made an honest mistake when he mentioned Shelby.

Garner is up 2-0 in Area 1 West. They have beat North Raleigh 11-1 and 6-0. Garner plays at home tonight in Game 3.

Pitt County leads 2-1 in Area 1 East over New Bern. After 2 blowout wins by Pitt, New Bern stayed alive last night with a win. Game 4 is tonight in New Bern.

Anyone know what happened to Wayne County this year? I haven't heard a thing about them. I know Snow Hill got beat out by Kinston, but what happened with the Wayne County boys?

Wayne County was beaten in the playoffs by Wilson County in 2 games. Wilson County then lost to New Bern.
