    cardinal classic 16U

The NC Rockers went 2-3 in the 16U division.
    Friday
Lost to Lady Blues 3-0. Played with them for most of game but a couple of timely hits by the Blues won the game. we were led by Ashley Myers Parkland '08 who went 2-3
    Saturday
Lost to Carolina Cougars 11-0. Cougars carried some big sticks and an awesome performance by their pitcher. good looking curveball
Lost to SC Hurricanes 3-1. nip and tuck game all the way. let several scoring chances get away from us. excellant performance by our pitcher Jordan Fulton WF rising freshman
Won against NC Lady Cardinals 16U 3-1. Finally broke through with some timely hitting of our own and some excellant defense by the entire team.
    Sunday
Won against Red Alert 6-1. Another excellant pitching performance by Jordan Fulton and we were led in hitting by Starr Gilley who went 3-4.

Good Weekend of ball considering the weather. our fields ran on time most all weekend. Umpiring was above average and i saw quite a few college coaches walking around. Ray and his crew should be commended for putting on an excellant showcase and the field crews should be also for all there hard work in very adverse conditions. good weekend for us considering about 5 of our girls could still be playing 12 & U and we only had one girl who even had a wrist band and she was a freshman last year. 1-3-1 for the early bird and 2-3 for this one. Improving every time. Thanks to everyone we talked to this weekend and have a great fall season. GO ROCKERS :ylsuper:

    Blues

16U Blues went 5-0 this weekend. We got great pitching and timely hitting all weekend. That said I think our baserunning won at least three of the games. Great job by this new group of kids.

18U went 2-2-1, Cardinals kicked our butt Friday night, loss to Legends in bottom of 7th, 3-2 after a great game. Ashton Ward pitched a no hitter against the Fla Ult Gold as we tied 0-0. Our 2006 and 2007 kids played most of the innings. We will surely miss our 2005 kids as they were a big part of the success we have enjoyed.

Ray and his crew did a nice job given all the rain etc. and the coaches were there. Most weathered the storms and watched some great softball and a great group of talented teams. Again the NC teams did well. Great summer of softball, we are headed to the ASA Nationals and hopefully can finished in the top 1/3 and with a little luck much better than that. Best of Luck to the Cardinals who will also be there.
