Pioneers seem much improved in their second year under Adrian Snow. Game was 3-0 Watauga at intermission and neither team managed a first down in the first quarter. Watauga had a couple chances in the red zone and came up empty but came from behind in the 4th to win after both teams loosened up the D a little in the second half.

Glad to see the kids from Boone not give up and finish strong last night. :bananalam Bigs ups to ACR on your win! Sorry McDowell, I have not seen your score, I read that the Cougars got beat at North Iredell??? Looks like the NW4A could be real good this year.

McDowell's game at T.C. Roberson was bumped to tonight because Roberson's new field would not be ready until tonight.

I got a gut feeling about the McDowell/Roberson game tonight. I think its gonna be much closer than many expect it to be.

What are you predicting for tonight? I've been looking around at other message boards and some are predicting at least a four touchdown game. I don't think its gonna happen.

Maybe I'm being over optimistic? But I feel like we will be much more competitive than last year. I'll tell you right now, when we played Freedom last year in Marion, everybody who entered Titan Stadium knew it was gonna get nasty in a hurry, and quite frankly that was embarassing to the diehard fans like The Warden, myself and to the program as a whole. We have never been a power at football but we could hold our own and even beat a good portion of our schedule. I think you'll see those kids come out tonight ready to play. The best thing that can happen tonight is that on the first possession we either be productive on offense, or keep Roberson from scoring quickly if we start on defense. If we can do that, then we will be okay. If Roberson scores on the first couple plays from scrimmage, then everybody is gonna say...Here we go again!!!

Yeah, they are taking it on the chin. Last I heard was 51-7. At least for McDowell's sake, they can produce some offense. Their actual score was an 87 yard drive. The scoring play was a 29 yard TD pass. That in itself is improvment from last year.

On the other hand, Roberson has some studs on their team. Hell, they got a 2nd string QB that's 6'7". Not gonna win too many when you got 2nd stringers of that calibur.
