Tonight West Meck is playing @ Ashbrook.

West has a brand new team out there after losing 26 seniors to graduation (I think 16 of them signed). Coach White is a very strong coach, he proved that with what he did to that team after they went 1-10 in 2003/2004. This year he has young, inexperienced QB's. West Charlotte transfer Richard Brannon (RB, 5'8", 205) is a monster running the ball, but he's only a sophomore with, again, little experience at the varsity level. The defense is their key. Walker White (6'1" 175) is an animal at Safety, and knows how to keep his team in the game. With Casey Russell (6'1" 235) anchoring the defensive line, he is likely their most experienced lineman. He can go up against guys that are 40-60 pounds heavier than he is, and he plays with a lot of intensity. They have Troy Lanham (6'1" 180) at Linebacker, though he has little experience, Coach White has done a good job with him. Those 3 are the key players on defense, which is West Meck's strength.

I've heard Ashbrook has returned 9 on defense, and is going to be pretty good. I haven't heard enough about them to really make any STRONG predictions.

I think West can win, the key will be their ball control and how they can contain Ashbrooks offense. I don't believe they will. I think it will be close, but I think Ashbrook comes out on top. I hope I'm wrong, but what do yall think?

Don't sleep on West now...they played Indy the best/closest last year. Ashbrook should be a good warm up for Indy next week(at West Meck)- the streak comes to an end!!!

West will be back I am sure. They just ran into a buzz saw last night in Ashbrook.

West better get the run defense sured up before they face Indy. Scary... :banginghe

Like I said...West will be the sleeper of the year in Charlotte. They are young and inexperiened and half of the kids ont he field last night were playing their first varsity football game. Coach White won't let this team fail. The coaching staff is too good. It's nice to see we have somebody like you to put a team down though.

    They will shut you up.
