Looking for a pitching coach to help increase fastball speed? My daughter really wants to work hard on that this fall/winter to help her be more prepared for her freshman year in high school. Who is the best around??? :twocents:

    Speed

I am not a pitching expert by any means but there are many things U can do on your own to increase speed and spin. One that jumps out is increase arm strength by lifting, using rotator cuff bans, throwing starting at the mound and continuing into centerfield, using your pitching motion, speed drills, throwing as many pitching as U can in a minute, 25 to 30 is good number. I am sure there are many people out there with much more knowledge than me in this area, just trying to give U a few things U can do that do not cost U. Good luck with your DD. I really do not know of a coach that specilizes in increasing speed but I believe I have heard someone recently talk about a person in north charlotte area.

    Thanks Rodney,
We do a lot of those things but as you know someone other than the dad sees things and can correct things that gain that extra couple MPH. Not looking for someone just specializing in increasing speed but maybe someone that has a good rep in that area.

    Pitching Coach

Sharon Bailey,Carolina Comets is a great coach,& will work with what you have, does not try to change anything unless your fundamentals are wrong. She teaches what very few coaches teach,& that is" leg drive "off the rubber. It sure gave my DD some more pop in the ole mitt,& she is not a very big girl.I did alot of talking & reading before choosing,& this is 1 thing that stuck with me in our decision. With no offense to the male coaches out there, girls need female pitching coaches because of the body strengths.Men have upper body strength, women have lower body strength,& thats usually how they will teach. That is where the legs come in.Like I said no offense to the male coaches out there, cause they're some good ones out there. But I know several girls that are good pitchers, but could be even faster if they could incorporate their legs into their throwing.Just watch at the next tour you attend, & I think you will see what I'm talking bout.
