Not a conspiracy but I was told by a DB rep this weekend that there was a mutual agreement not to play for awhile due to some bad blood between the teams in the past. A shame really because from what I have seen this weekend, the games would be classics.

I won't dispute that, but that has not stopped Andy playing a team before. There is some bad blood between Impact and On Deck...but they have played each other. I'm with you Baseballman; I bet the players would love to play each other. It's not very often that showcase teams get to develop any type of rivalry.

Having seen both teams play several times, I think these are the 2 best assembled teams in NC currently. I think, top to bottom, the Dirtsbags have the edge in size, speed and power. I can't quite make up my mind on pitching. Anybody can beat anybody on a given night but if they were to play a 7 game series - I'd pick the Dirtbags every time.

Both younger teams are good also and it will be fun to watch them develop.

I talked to several Cubs players this week and they were EXTREMELY disappointed at the schedule change. If the two teams don't play in FLA then they should just get a rec field somewhere one weekend and duke it out.

BaseballMan....hopefully we get to see them play...I saw both teams this weekend and I really think it would be a great game. The only thing you would fear is that both teams play "uptight" and not play their normal game.

I do think the Dirtbags have more power up and down the line up (does depend obviously which line up is in the game)....pitching matches up pretty well.

12to6....the O's have a very good team, but the 18U Dirtbags have several additions to the fall team that were not on the summer team....the Dirtbags probably takes the series in the fall most of the time (IMHO)....yesterday's meeting was the first one with the 18U fall team.

    Cubs vs Dirtbags

KNowing several players &/or having seen them play, I would agree that this would be one great game... It's a toss up in single game format, but woul dbe one heckuva series whether best of 5 or 7...

    Dirtbags 18 VS Cubs 18

Both these teams are outstanding. The only way you could say one is better than the other is if they played a series. A one game match up would be meaningless as far as determining who has the best team. One thing that I think we all can agree on is that they both have outstanding teams made up of some of the best players around,
