ECU Fires Baseball Coach

    Terry Holland announced today that ECU baseball coach Randy Mazey has been fired. Billy Godwin will be the temporary replacement.

    Yeah, just heard. Coach Godwin has enough experience(Louisburg College) to take them places though.

    Coach May probably is our most plugged in member of the situation. Apparently, there is/was dissension among the (transferred) coaches, players, recruits...possible violations, threatened lawsuits from parents and the AD, Terry Holland, is trying to ward off the NCAA officers with his actions.

    Anything said is mere speculation, rumors and some feedback from some recruits....I guess we will have to wait to hear from the NCAA because NOTHING will be coming out from ECU unless it's damage control.

    You bet....

    Braves! I do hope the firing is justified in the sense that the coach did do "something" wrong and perhaps there was violations, etc ON THE OTHER HAND if this is all smoke and the bottom line is that the coach was fired because "parents" were not happy and "players" were whining about not playing etc... so they fueled his ousting by harasssing the AD to do something and eventually "caved" in to complaints ... NOT GOOD... but I am not surprised tho in that the boosteres and a players' parents money may be involved ultimately NOT taking any sides just my 1 cent! :)

    I don't think so Coach. I guess one thing you can read into is this. The much beloved former coach, LeClair, who recommended Mazey for the position is backing the University and the AD 100% in the decision.
