man talk about one butt ugly game.

Mostly due to illegal participation by the referees.

Most specifically one fat little fu%^$#^&$#^%#$er you was as clueless as any ref I have ever seen. He spent the first half ticking off all the Ragsdale fans. Spent a good portion of the second half ticking off the Southwest fans.

I think there was 5 or 6 interference calls in the game. NONE of them were good calls. The worst of all calls was when Southwest threw a hail mary to end the first half - scored tied at six. Jarvis Siler intercepts in the end zone - no time on the clock and alot of green grass and blockers ahead of him. While he may not have scored, for some reason the fat little guy decides to blow the whistle and kill the play. Why? Because there was holding against Southwest. Then it took him ten minutes to figure out what he was supposed to do. There were several ref conferences during the game. Mainly because they couldn't figure out what the heck they were doing.

The only thing that may have been worse then the refs was Tommy Norwood's play calling. The worst display I have seen in many a year. Ragsdale could have passed down field all night but they kept throwing stupid little short passes.

oh well - Southwest played good - they were obviously fired up for the game. They probably had a chance to win it in regulation. With a time out in their pocket and needing about five yards from the 30 for a decent long FG attempt they decided to pass with 17 seconds - QB got rushed, brought it down and took a loss, pushing them out of FG range.

In OT Ragsdale got the ball first - Cameron Booker scored from the one on 3rd down.

SW fumbled the ball on 2nd down, Ragsdale recovered for the ball game.

Ragsdale scored on a 23 yard Mullins to Caldwell pass in the 2nd quarter. Missed the PAT. SW scored on fourth down from the one in the first quarter, after a bad interference call gave them the ball inside the ten. SW woofed too much after the TD - got a 15 yard penalty and had their PAT blocked.

Otherwise it was a pretty ugly game. All I can hope is Norwood didn't want to show Burton Cates any of his good plays. I told the Eastern Randolph coach it should be illegal to play on Thursday night just so you can send the whole staff scouting the next night. Of course Ragsdale coaches were in Ramseur last night for sure.

Ragsdale at Eastern Randolph next Friday night. It will probably be another ugly, intense defensive game. But hopefully with some decent referees this time.

    Mooresville 13

Not much of a contest here as Mooresville turned the ball over deep in their own territory 3 times (2 fumbles/blocked punt) in the first half leading directly to 17 W. Rowan points. Mooresville was stuffed on offense for much of the game garnering one score as the result of a long run to the WR 12 and the other via a fumble return by the defense very late in the game. The score was 31-6 at the half. Mooresville heads into next season looking to rebound from what was a very difficult season this year.

    South Caldwell vs. Alexander

South Caldwell was on a mission. The game wasn't even really close at all. AC scored once when they grabbed the ball out of SC's hands. South wanted the game more and played more like the team they were earlier in the season. AC didn't score in the 2nd half. SC's defense is great!!

Although I don't know either team, this game was still a shocker to me. How can a team that is 4-6 completely dominate a team that was 9-1. Great thing about playoffs though...you can't overlook any team.
