The Charger Defense is clicking on all cylinders. Great effort last night up at Reynolds. Crest got on the board first thanks to about a 30 yrd FG by Doug Lowery going up 3-0. This was the score at the half. The second half started with Crest getting the ball and driving for another score. Jordan Robinson took the ball in from the 5 and Crest was up 10-0. Crest got on the board once again with Tosh Toms getting the TD and the Chargers led 17-0. Crest takes their starters out late. Harper from Reynolds gets into the endzone with around a minute left, giving us the final of 17-7.

Reynolds was able to get inside the redzone, but Crest was able to force a fumble on one series, INT, on another, and I think the biggest, after Crest scores to open the second half, the return man for Reynolds takes the ball down to about the 7. The Crest D holds and forces a FG attempt, but it was no good.

Brandon Spikes had an unreal INT. He picked it off, but wasn't able to reel it in, ran about 3 yrds just juggling it and finally got it under contol. It showcased his athletic ability, and the guys that were there recruiting from Flordia were going crazy about it.

Jordan Robinson continues to improve. He was steady again last night as he went 8-10 and ran in a TD. The biggest thing from him was that he had no TO's and last night was throwing the ball with some zip.

Tosh Toms, the 140 pound dynamo soph, is going to be a special player at Crest. This young man has gone into the last 2 games hearing about these other RB's that Crest has seen, Alston and Harper. He has gone out over those 2 games and rushed for a total of 261 yards. The other 2 backs combined for 185 yrds.

Crest will host, and after the Hunter Huss game I didn't think I would get to say that, a 3rd round match-up with South Caldwell.

I'll just say what I have said since the playoffs began. We just want to stay healthy and let the chips fall where they may.

Thats a great job by the Chargers football team and their coaching staff to end up in the third round after the regular season they've had.

And you wanna know something else?? There isn't even a sniff about that game in the Asheville Citizen. Don't tell me they didn't have someone there covering it. The ACT just can't stand to see their beloved Rockets lose, therefore this game gets "lost" in the mix. One thing; if ya'll take South lightly, you will lose. They are well coached and hard nosed. Don't have near the athletes that you do, but they have a lot of heart. I am, however, glad that you won last night.

I don't know what edition of the AC-T you are looking at but the article is on page 3 of todays paper. There are also video clips of the game on-line. The Rockets don't get near the press that Asheville or Roberson for that matter gets. Turnovers were the key to last nights ballgame. You cannot beat a quality team when you have 4 turnovers. THe Rocket D played well enough to win last night. Tough loss to swallow.

Dosen't the Citizen-Times print two different versions of their paper, one for Buncombe County and another for the surrounding counties? I looked at today's paper and I also didn't see a thing, not even a box score?

Got the same one, bigdan. Nothing about it in mine, not even a box score. Of course, I rarely get McDowell stuff in it either.....
