Just got a voice mail from one of my former Blues parents, Kasie Goens an Independence grad, fell and hit her head and has been in a comma since. Kasie played softball, basketball, and volleyball at the Big I, and played travel softball for the Blues and later for her Dad and Randy Bunnell and I am sorry my old age shows again as I can not remember the name of that travel team. Please all of U pray for this fine young lady. Kasie is an awesome young lady with a wonderful personality and love for life! Her family has always been so supportive of her and her sister Kim, as well as an older sister I believe. Sorry, I do not have any more to tell but as I can get more infor, will share.

Again, please pray for this young lady, she is a special young lady! We need her well as she brings joy to everyone she meets. RET

    Kasie

Quick update, she is scheduled for surgery on Thursday and will have a breathing and feeding tube installed. She is at Pitt County Memorial Hospital Intensive Care Unit. Again, please pray for her and her family, they are special. RET

My heart aches for her family. I hope she will pull through. The Lady O's will keep her and her family in our thoughts and prayers.

    Some change

Latest is good, movement in arms and legs and Doc says 90% chance of survival now. Delayed surgery for a day or two to see if progress continues. Three spots on the brain are affected, two seem to be showing some signs of healing. The family says they are feeling the power of all the prayers.

Thanks to all of U for your prayers and support. Kasie will be fine, I just know with all the support, why not!

Oh by the way, she played for the Knights after the Lady Blues.

My daughter played softball and basketball with Kasie at BIG I and is very good friends with her. Kasie is a fighter and our hearts and prayers are with the Goens Family. Thanks RET for keeping us informed. Get well soon Kasie, we love you!

My thoughts and prayers go out to Kasie and her family. I have had some contact with older sister Joy in the past with other softball ventures and it becomes obvious very quickly that they are a very close knit family. We will continue to pray for her continued recovery.
