Play-off Ban must be considered!!

We loyal fans of our sports teams in Caldwell County are used to this kind of event. It is not the first time that we have played a game, lost to an opponent, only to find out later that the team wasn’t eligible in the first place. The South Caldwell Football Team had a great season, but they are put out of the chase for a Championship by someone who cheats to win. The NCAA has a solution to the problem; BAN the program from post-season play for a couple of years. It may have been noble of CREST to admit their mistake. But, the NCHSAA should ban the football program from post-season play for a couple of years, and then see if it happens again. It should be public knowledge who the player is and what games he participated in this season. Crest has all ways been a power-house in football, thus this type of infraction is inexcusable. If a ban is not enforced then I say that all their State Championships should be questioned and investigated for eligibility.

 

The moral to the story is!!!!!! When you get em down..YOU KICK EM !!!! RIGHT!!!!!

 

What difference does it make what player it was ?...
Suppose it was a player that never played all year but one game.. Crest was ahead by 20 points and this kid played 35 seconds at the end of the game... do you not feel stupid calling this player out ?
It's not the players fault.. Its the system...
Get over it .. they are done for the year ...no reason to dwell on it.. your just making yourself miserable...If your team was better you would not have lost to begin with...

Had your team gotten it done on the field, you wouldn't have to be here whinin' about Crest cheating.....just saying.

 

I can understand you guys wanting to ban from the playoff but to out the player is crazy. Something should be done to that AD, Coach & whoeverelse should be checking the grades.

 

So if a team like Northampton West, who's playing for their first state title in any sport in school history, has it happen, you let them slide?


As far as always being a powerhouse. Crest was 2-8 my SR year.

 

No, nobody should slide if using an ineligible player.

OK, OK, I will retract my statement about wanting to know the identity of the player in question. But, I will stand my ground on the NCAA, because they don't care who screwed up or why, they just deal out the punishment.

SMASHMOUTH- the last time that CREST was in the NW-4A they lost very few conference games if any and they always went to the play-offs. Furthermore, Crest has won a State Championship since then to boot.

BUCKO- Get it done on the field, HOW? Crest was cheating if they played an illegal player at any time during the game, End of the argument. CREST is a bunch of CHEATERS.

Intimidator Coach- I agree and you are right. But the system that presents the Crest Football Program is all part of one big team. AD, Coach, School Board, Parents, Supporters, and Players they are all involved and the NCHSAA should punish, not slap on the wrist that TEAM and the System that it supports!!!

I am in Law Enforcement. If you get caught-YOU GOT CAUGHT. If you do the crime, then face the time or act like a bunch of Martha Stewarts!!!!!!!

There is a long list of schools that have been fined for playing an ineligible player. From football, basketball to baseball and not one school has been banned from further participation in the playoffs. Why should Crest be treated differently?
