    DEAD PEROID

BMac the thing about misunderstanding the rule don't cut. That issue about dead time was brought up at least 3-4 times in the Coaches meeting. All coaches were informed at that time what the dates and rules were.If they recinded the fine they were being gracious.Rules are in effect and are there now until changed so if you break them there are penalites. And the Coach in question was at this meeting and it took place before the Nationals. So Coaches until something changes play within the rules that are in place and work to change them.Keep things postive.

    Ndsb,

Thanks for your concern. However you do not have all the facts of of what happened. The bottomline is if this coach had not been given incorrect information by the NCHSAA, then there would have never been an issue.

He did not "misunderstand" anything as you incorrectly state. He understood the rule as was explained by the NCHSAA when a call was made to them.

One last thing, let's not get into a discussion of teams/coaches that don't follow the rules. That would benefit no one and certainly does not have a place on this board.

Good luck in 2006. You guys have the team to beat and should be in Raleigh next June.

Listen BMAC, you love West Forsyth and you will defend your coach to the bitter end (rightly so), but the facts of the matter are this. Coach Baity stood in the meeting with every other HS coach, while Que Tucker went over the rules and brought up the facts concerning no coaching situations or contacts during the dead period, from August 1st on. She went into great detail concerning this issue. She even went so far to say about if a tournament started before AUgust 1st, could a coach continue through to the end of that tournament. She said August 1st is dead. The question was again brought forward asking about the coaching of travel ball in August and Que Tucker said, NO Contact .It was crystal clear. Furthermore, the rule as not changed over the course of the last ten years. Coach Baity is not a rookie coach, but a veteran coach. Every veteran coach has heard the same deal every year and I know Coach Beatty has been at it over ten years. Coach Chandler was standing right beside him. Also, Coach knew and had open discussions with several Cardinal parents about the approaching situation. I KNOW You know this.
(Also why in an 1st post you said he was fined. Then in a later post when you wanted to back him, you said the fine was rescinded.) As you referred to the "sword" cutting or missing its mark. the "sword" did cut based on a letter to sent to every Forsyth County HS. I do not like the rules situation with the NCHSAA any more than you do because it punishes the people that need to be on the field the most. People who want to Coach! And I could not care less if they punish him or not, but every HS coach wants the same opportunity he took to coach.
I am on the same side of the fence in accordance with the NCHSAA rules being BS, but don't call our program out saying CC is the one in the wrong. You stated that the CC players benefited by playing, that was not in question. The problem was one coach getting an unfair advantage over his peers who are following the rules.

As far as the Sunday practices go, you know as well as I do that 4 West players practiced with their HS Coach on Sundays. The CC players were there along with others. And No, it was not the West team, but it is a rule that a HS Coach cannot work out with "Their" own HS players under the pretense that it is his travel team.

As far as the previous posts related to Central. Hey, everybody on this board knew exactly who you were talking about with the comments. Don't say CC wasn't called out.. Enough said.

The Cardinals , along with the Lady Blues, have always been and always will be one of the top travel teams in the State and are recognized on a National basis. I am all for promoting Softball players and the Cardinals certainly have done that in a positive manner. Central players such as Crystal Cox, Theresa Nichols, Kelly and Gina Allen, Destiny and Chasity Covington, Stephanie Beatty, Evin Miller have all greatly benefited from the Cardinals Organization. Hats off to them.

I know there are more high schools in NC that play great softball. CC works hard to deserve victory and recognition. The margain of victory is very slim among the best teams in the State, but Central has taken everyone in NC's best shot and withstood the challenge. 56 wins in a row against the programs of Butler, Providence, Hillcrest, West Forsyth, Indian Land, Spring Valley, Mauldin, Fay. Southview, West Rowan, and Cape Fear to name a few is pretty dog gone good. Great games, intense pressure and great coaches.

    Merry Christmas to all

    GIVE IT A REST SON

CCFASTPITCH, give it a rest, where do you get this crap from, no one called cc out, and contrary to your opinion, not everything is centered on the wins, doings, insults or whatever that goes on with cc. I'm glad your proud of the team you keep score for, but remember, this thread is about dead periods, not cc!!!!!!! If you want to talk about cc, start a thread about it, i'm sure someone will post their opinion. but I believe that one of the reasons that people dump on cc on tbr is because of the comments YOU make, you seem to set people off with your instant defense about your team, believe me, most of us really don't care about what cc did last year or the year before, lets look at this year and try and stay positive. Your picking on bmac is a bit bizzarre, considering he's one of the most looked up to coaches around, and a heck of a nice guy to boot!! do you coach anything? aren't you the scorekeeper for cc??? do ya see where i'm going with this??? just give it a rest and lets talk about the dead period.

    cc's response

It sounds to me that when you are vague about who you are talking about in your reply as bmac was then you should be able to understand why cc responded the way he did. As far as the comment about cc just being a scorekeeper well, cheezes response about him being a coach was even more ridiculous.

    say what?

sorry, but I've been a coach for over 12 years with some great teams and great people, and have played against bmac's carolina stars most of those 12 years, excellent coach, no bs on the field, well mannered parents and girls! remember this thread was about dead periods, it would just be nice to stick to the subject for once and not hear about things most of us really don't care about.
